Wondering when we were going to do this again.

I'm in! I would like Miami if possible.

We should probably wait until after FA.

Right, we’ll still sign up now though. I anticipate each willing participant needing to take multiple teams.

You can have Miami.

Are you going to participate in the mock legitimately or are you going to be a douche like last year and refuse to acknowledge the picks made in front if you even if you disagree with them?

Ignore people’s picks, chastising them because “that wouldn’t happen” and then not making your picks in accordance with what had transpired before you because you didn’t agree with it.

I’m not looking to get in a pissing match with you about it, just asking you to legitimately participate for the sake of everyone else’s enjoyment.

If you don’t like someone’s pick ahead of you, you can voice it, but don’t do what you did last year. Is that fair?

Not looking for any excuse, justification or explanation. Just a simple yes or no, can you just go along with the mock so we all can just have fun with it?

Not sure what picks I "ignored" but the entire point is to make a selection within our own judgement. I think the criticism was based on not picking Haskins for Cincinnati. I said he wasn't on the board and that the picks before me were unrealistic because our mock drafters ignore the quarterback value.

TO demonstrate how inane our picks were, I selected Daniel JOnes in the 3rd round for the very team everyone jumped on my ass for.

So, your view on what was "legitimate" is just your subjective view. My view was that a legitimate pick for a team was a player that would actually be availabel at the selection. That is a legitimate process wheterh you agree or not.

One was me when I passed on a QB with the Giants right away.

You then proceeded to complain and then drafted two guys in the top 11 that were not even drafted in the 1st rd.

Can't make it up.

And what did I do that was so terrible?
Ignore people’s picks, chastising them because “that wouldn’t happen” and then not making your picks in accordance with what had transpired before you because you didn’t agree with it.

I’m not looking to get in a pissing match with you about it, just asking you to legitimately participate for the sake of everyone else’s enjoyment.

If you don’t like someone’s pick ahead of you, you can voice it, but don’t do what you did last year. Is that fair?

Not looking for any excuse, justification or explanation. Just a simple yes or no, can you just go along with the mock so we all can just have fun with it?

Oh I see what the problem is. You should just conduct your own mock draft and GM every team.

Yeah. The QB that I drafted in the 3rd round in the mock was the QB the Giants actually took with the 6th overall pick. And the team that I took an offensive tackle with just took a different offensive tackle in teh draft.

YOu can't make it up, can you?

I get that the point of a Rube mock draft is to make the selections that you think the team you are being the GM would do. That is great. But I also think that this creates an unrealistic environment were the player who was the 6th overall pick went in the mid-3rd in our draft and that the more objective way of making the best pick for the Bengals, or whatever team making the pick, is to look at only the set of players that they would realistically select.

And, I still think that Ford and Taylor were the best offensive tackles in the draft last season and that some of their slip was injury and other factor related.

It's a sad day when I have to take the side of the VI and say he is probably right and you were the jackass in the situation. For God sakes, can you let the kids know the last day you had any sort of significant fun? I'm gonna guess March 25, 1989.

Ash is trying to put a fun, fuck around draft deal where, you know, it's just a casual every dumbass pretend they are gm for a day deal, and you have to explain in great detail why you being a prick the last time wasnt really being a prick and how stupid it was that rubes messing around was.

Hint, the way to answer his question was - "no, won't be a problem". Good God.

IT isn't being a "prick" at all. They selected the way THEY wanted to make their selection and I selected the way I wanted to make the selection. I did nto want to select a quarterback for the Cincinnati pick because I did not see them selecting a quarterback no matter WHO was available in the Rube Mock Draft. So, who really was being a douche? Certainly wasn't me. I was making the subjective pick of my team I was the GM for. Those pricks were criticizing it for stupid reasons. So, lets make that clear.

It’s fine.

I was just looking for mlhouse to simply say he’d play nice, instead, predictably we got a novel about why his way was the right way and the rest of us who were just trying to have a good time were wrong.

We’ll just exclude him. No big deal.

mlhouse’s teams are open.
