I think he was attending a memorial for the anniversary of his mother's passing.

What the hell is wrong with Minnesota atm? How can this just keep happening?

Also, please don't make this into a polichat thread - i.e. slinging slurs at each other and fighting.

I think the reason this continues to happen to people of color (black) is because they (we) have been treated this way since we got here. It's easy to comply when you have no fear of being shot. (A white friend of mine and I got stopped on the way to golf, and my friend jumped out of the car and demanded that he hurry and write the ticket, even cursed him. I just knew he would be killed. Nope. Nothing.) (Didn't even miss the tee time.)
Black people panic because they think they can get shot/killed without any repercussions to police.
Police need to be held accountable, IE jailed for mistakes, intentional or unintentional.

Officer Noor made a mistake because he panicked, shot and killed a white woman, and they wasted little time throwing him in jail and awarded the family a record settlement. While I agree with the verdict, (Noor) they ALL need to be colorless in loss of life to police. And if you think that you cant treat people of all colors respectfully, (handle the job) then choose another profession. Simple.
And no, looting is not protesting. It's opportunist looking to get free sh*t, without really caring about the reason. And I loved that Walmart in BC. Went once a week. Now my dad has to travel to another city to shop.

Wolves did the right thing. Wish the police would.

Also, no reasonable person of color wants to "defund the police." Reform? Yes.
And I am not an "Afro American" I was born in St Paul, and served 4 years in the Army. I am American.

While it is rare, it does happen. The problem is the tasers are shaped too much like a sidearm, with a handle, etc..

Making everything a racial issue is about 80% of the problem. If you have an outstanding warrant like this individual did, you will be handcuffed and taken to jail. Remember what a warrant is: it is a document for your arrest because you failed to comply with previous court orders.

Further, white or black, if you resist arrest like this dude did, you will increase the level of reaction from the police.

These are RULES to follow, white or black or whatever race. When you break the law or break the rules, you are opening up a a range of consequences and that is not racist.

I never said players need to shut up, the players can say what they want, the timberwolves need to be apolitical as does the NBA. Otherwise I question their silence on all other issues. That is the problem with businesses being political. The people who don't get this reasonable belief are what is ruining society.

Yep, let's support "run from the law". Where's that going to get us law abiding citizens? Here's a hint, the guy gets in his car and races down the road running from the law and runs your daughter over. She dies. How do you feel now?

It really isn't.

Mistakes happen. Mistakes are not criminal offences.

Tragic, sure.

There will be a massive settlement even though it could be argued (likely unsuccessfully) that the mistake would have never happened if not for the decisions of the victim...regardless this is for the civil not criminal courts. It should also be easier to fire incompetently, but public unions make that very hard.

Like Floyd? $20 fake bill is not worthy of loos of your life. What you say is mostly true, but tell me why a young black kid can get shot for being scared, and warrant or not, he was killed. While young adult can walk into a grocery store and kill several people, but get escorted out without being shot. See the dif?
But you are entitled to your opinion, but facts are, black people are killed more often. Cops reach for guns before even trying to deescalate. See the Army officer get sprayed for asking why he was being stopped. Police didn't see his tabs. He could have been killed. What did he do wrong? Drove to an area where it was well lit so he couldn't be murdered in the dark. Then the officer LIED and said he struck his hand as they tried to take him out. It's not as black and white as you seem to think. How would you respond if you got stopped, and police had guns drawn on you? See the dif?
But anyway, back to Wolves talk.

Your opinion is mock worthy. Which only proves my point.

If we both think each other's opinion is mock worthy...maybe...just...maybe business should stay the fuck out of it. You cannot be political without alienating probably half your customers at any given time. If you can't tell this is bad for a society, well, you never will. But the socially responsible thing to do is foster a neutral inclusive environment to promote harmony and less division...they do the opposite. To me that is wrong on many levels and frankly irresponsible.

1. Counterfeiting is a serious crime in my book. It is not like selling loose cigarettes, it is a crime with real consequences. Yes you call the cops, no you don't let them get away.

2.Multiple studies have shown that per interaction whites and blacks are killed at the same rates. Per capita numbers are bleak for blacks though, as are ancillary interactions. Why this is, is a larger conversation that has many factors...and is where the conversation really needs to start. Lots of good points from a wide range of political beliefs. But no blacks are not killed more (whites are), blacks are killed more per capita. Making these distinctions is important because it gives a more accurate picture of the problem.

3. You make some good points in your posts.

Like Floyd? $20 fake bill is not worthy of loos of your life. What you say is mostly true, but tell me why a young black kid can get shot for being scared, and warrant or not, he was killed. While young adult can walk into a grocery store and kill several people, but get escorted out without being shot. See the dif?

1. The constant linkage of the perpetrators death to the original reason why the police were called is disingenuous. The continued use of these types of claims makes you look foolish.

2. Your claims are false with respect to the claim that African-Americans are more often killed than whites. 52% of the victims of lethal force by law enforcement are white. 32% are African American.... oh, but you will respond that blacks are only 13% of the population and thus are disproportionately killed by law enforcement. And while that claim is based on numbers, it is the wrong denominator since African-Americans commit a disporportionate amount of the crimes. When you use criminal activity as the denominator, whites are killed by law enforcement in a slightly disproportionate amount.

3. The army officer getting peppered had nothing to do with "tabs", but was based on a report of a similar vehicle that was involved in a crime. If there is a report of a crime involving the make and model and color of my vehicle and I happened to drive by, the police would likely treat me as a suspect too. So, there really isn't a "dif".

I personally have been arrested. I was pulled over for speeding while traveling in Minnesota. I lost the paper ticket and was waiting for the notice I know they will send once your fine is due because I could not remember even what county I was in when pulled over. The day after Memorial Day two police officers showed up at my front door to execute an arrest warrant on my ass. I asked them if they were going to handcuff me, and when they said Yes I told them I wasn't going. When they both simultaneously reached for their tasers I changed my dumb ass mind. If I would have resisted arrest they would have tased me and probably would have beat the shit out of me, I would have spent more than the 41 minutes I spent in the jail on that charge. It was my choice to resist or not, and man I wanted to fucking not be arrested on a bullshit traffic warrant.

So could have this kid. And many others.

I get that you are fed a pile of propaganda from race baiters who want to see these racial and police tensions escalated. They do this because you fall for it all the time.
