Re: Wolves Sold to A-Rod
Taking relocation out of the conversation for a bit, how comfortable is everyone with a Lore/A-Rod duo?
They don’t seem to have super deep pockets. No luxury tax?
Is A-Rod being a past star player a good thing? Does it matter?
This Lore guy seems to be really smart. That’s obviously a plus. Them claiming to want mentorship seems to indicate a desire or at least an ability to listen to others. Hopefully they stay out of basketball decision making.
Overall I’m mixed.

Re: Wolves Sold to A-Rod
I'm finding a wide range of net worth claims for Lore. One article says "at least $44K", which I guess would technically be accurate, another one says "$1 Bill +", another says $4 bill. Hopefully the $4Bill one is the accurate one. In comparison, Mark Cuban is worth approximately $4.4 bill, and Glen Taylor $2.9 billStyle wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 8:27 am Taking relocation out of the conversation for a bit, how comfortable is everyone with a Lore/A-Rod duo?

I wish I didn't hate A-Rod. I even hate calling him that.

I wonder what our attendance to wins ratio is compared to profession sports teams? I'm guessing probably the best of all time.

From my understanding NBA bylaws would prevent such language from being put into the contract much less enforced. I'll see if I can find the article I read.

If it’s beneficial for the NBA, the NBA Owners in general, and the owner of the club - they will move the club. These type of “promises“ mean nothing.

So much handwringing and bitching??!!
After so many years of complaining, outrage and general loathing, along with the cocksure assuredness that new ownership was the answer to all ills. You guys got exactly what you wanted and you are still not happy.
Crazy.

Sounds like ARod is just looking for a 25-30 year investment.

It's probably most beneficial to the NBA if the team stays here so they can collect the $2.5 BILLION expansion fee for teams starting up in Seattle and Vegas.D_H wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 12:16 pmIf it’s beneficial for the NBA, the NBA Owners in general, and the owner of the club - they will move the club. I don't feel comfortable at all with these guys. There is no precedent of behaviour other than one being a Seattle MLB star, the other a businessman who sells businesses after building them up.Style wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 8:27 am Taking relocation out of the conversation for a bit, how comfortable is everyone with a Lore/A-Rod duo?

The only angle I can see from the two is move the team to Seattle and sell it on again. There is no other reason for these two to buy a team.
Glen has got to be kidding himself if he thinks these guys will keep the Wolves here. The only saving grace would be for the NBA to hand out two new licenses to Seattle and Vegas in the coming years so we can't relocate.

Re: Wolves Sold to A-Rod
I don't get why Wolves fans think we're going to get moved. Obviously that's been GT's main prerequisite to any buyer. Second, and I'd argue just as heavy of importance....Adam Silver has said he's wanted to expand, ala, ADD teams. Not shuffle the deck who the current roster to the another market. I could easily see them looking to add Vegas/Seattle/ and I've always thought there'd be a market in the in some south east states like Bama and Ark, places that really only have college sports to go to and follow with passion.Danielakiiki wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 1:39 pmIt's probably most beneficial to the NBA if the team stays here so they can collect the $2.5 BILLION expansion fee for teams starting up in Seattle and Vegas.
