Fire Saunders. Hire Vanterpool.

Post by thinktank »

Simple.

Run the same system. It’s not the system that’s bad—it’s Ryan’s game management.

Teach these guys to win the right way.

Manage the games better.

Love you Ryan. You will be a HC again some day.

And win yourself about 5 more games!

I don't care who they get as HC. This roster is absolute trash.

Blow it up!!

A 5 game difference is worth it.

(I think he’d cost us more wins than that.)

It’s also about playing the right way.

Agree with OP Saunders has mismanaged and lost games we should have won... I hate losing.

Vanterpool was hired by Rosas to replace Saunders because dumbass Taylor wouldn’t let anyone fire Saunders.

To me the biggest proof that Ryan needs to go was a couple games ago Vanterpool and other coaches rushed to Saunders to tell him what he needed to do and he waived them off like I got this... no you don’t you suck balls.

Tipping point given next years pick is in limbo. Make a coaching change in an effort to compete, be aggressive at the deadline, or stand pat and ride Ryan to the bottom of the league and a top 3 pick.

Do you think Ryan’s constant small ball has anything to do with that?

“ Vanderbilt grabbed the rebound and dribbled a couple times. The Wolves had two timeouts and inexplicably didn't call one. That's a coaching gaffe. ”

Randball: https://m.startribune.com/total-closeou ... 600013197/

No timeout to setup the defense on Vanderbilt’s FTs either.

Saunders is making mistakes no other NBA head coach makes.

He looks like a chicken with his head cut off out there.

It’s also pretty mind-boggling that I heard Barreiro and read Souhan both defending Saunders and saying that firing Saunders wouldn’t lead to more wins.

Well, I think the very next game absolutely destroyed that argument.

Agree. I’d consider keeping Vanderpool around as a lame duck very interim HC until a finalized search is concluded.

I personally wouldn’t mess around with an interim HC for the rest of the year. Start the search now. Too much season left to toss away. Enough wasted motions.

Yep. Not sure why some in here think this roster is any good. It’s the worst shit I’ve seen in a long time. Rosas and Saunders need to go. The old rich white guy needs to sell. they might start to put together a respectable team after that.

Souhan is usually pretty cynical so that surprises me.

They would 100% win more games with almost any experienced NBA coach and I didn’t hear or read their other points, but this roster is a dumpster so I sort of see the angle they’re driving at. However, they’re both Flip bobos and there’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s a conflict for them to harshly criticize his kid.

No doubt.

It’s an extension of the country club.

I’m just glad that argument was immediately exposed as ridiculous.

A small silver lining, perhaps.

If people couldn't see in that 4th quarter last night exactly why Ryan Saunders has no business being an NBA head coach, then they'll never see it. Brutal mistake after brutal mistake.

TBF, I knew we were going to lose with 5 minutes left only being up 10, not because of Saunders, but because that's what the Wolves have done every year since KG left except the Jimmy Butler year.

Not sure if Saunders is the problem, or the outcome of such a fucking terrible franchise.

We won't win until Glen sells.

Fire Ryan, Interm Vanterpool. He has 60 games to show what he can do because all the former coaches are on one year gigs right now in Joeger, Atkinson, D’antoni, McMillian.

Can’t get them right now anyways.

Ryan is 1-6 this season going into the 4th with a lead.

Many in here complained about Jimmy ball at the end of games.

Running clock up 10, getting into the paint, drawing fouls, closing games wasn't desirable offense...it's better to just play iso and huck jumpers in some people's minds.

100% possible that still could have happened by the players.

But last night Saunders put in the worst lineup he could have down the stretch. Saunders going with that line up is 90% why we lost

I don't disagree. leaving a rebounding lineup in and not calling a timeout to switch them out after getting said rebound is beyond embarrassing. But, it's par for course for this sorry assed franchise. I fully expect if the right guy got the ball we miss a free throw, they hit that same shot, we lose in OT.

The culture here is losing in whatever way possible.

Here's how you can look like a basketball genius any time they play. Last night in the bar they finally turned them on in the end of the 3rd with a near 20 point lead and I said I guarantee they lose this game. People laugh because there are no Wolves fans left. Up 2 with the ball I left for the can and said just watch. Returned to the obvious loss and I was an apparent genius. For my next trick I predict that the sun will rise in the east and the Wolves will be last in the west.

We won't win until Glen dies. He will never sell.
