Not that we were the only team to pass, but didn’t we take Shabazz over him?somuchyummy wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 9:28 am last night.
giannis goes 18 of 18 on twos. jesus.
also, it's a good thing there aren't many paying customers coming to these games. did you see the injury/rest/DNP-CD list from last night's hawks/pelicans match? ridiculous. danilo gallinari, steven adams, lonzo ball, deandre hunter, cam reddish, john collins, trae young, josh hart, zion williamson and brandon ingram ALL were MIA.

Yeah, Shabazz was 14 and Giannis was 15. We’re sitting eight years later and there were two guys drafted in the top 15 that washed out in four years - Shabazz and Anthony Bennett.T_J wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 4:50 pmNot that we were the only team to pass, but didn’t we take Shabazz over him?somuchyummy wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 9:28 am last night.

And the Wolves had both at one point.

Yep. Shabazz could have been a useful player and still on a roster had he just developed some limited sense and feel for the game. Certainly not someone I would call unskilled. Players wash out all the time for various reasons. Felt like a similar thing happened to McCants, but he was better than Shabazz.SHAFA wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 5:21 pmYeah, Shabazz was 14 and Giannis was 15. Very impressed by Baylor's defense. Just swarming and rotating forced turnovers and took care of the ball while attacking and making smart plays. They completely outclassed Gonzaga. Well deserved champions.

they outclassed gonzaga, but i also think gonzaga just ran out of gas. they don't play a deep bench at all - is it mostly 7 guys? - and i think it eventually showed at season end in the fatigue/odd lapse factor - especially against such a quick, strong and aggressive squad like baylor. who i think play a 9 man rotation.

This Nets team has barely been together, but I’d be stunned if they don’t win the title. Their big 3 is absolutely loaded and I know there’s the irritation of the buyout shit with Blake and Aldridge.
I’m watching them and remember where Aldridge has played for the last like 5 years...the Spurs. The ball is ping ponging all over against a bleh Pelicans team but these guys are not just scoring machines, they are all smart as hell bball players and are going to roll through the East. Even a healthy Lebron and AD or a Kawhi/PG clips team isn’t taking down a team this deep.
Lock it in. Brooklyn winning the title.

that trade idea i had before the deadline - that many panned - culver for bamba, i believe that idea will be dead in the water in the offseason.
with the loss of vucevic (replaced by carter jr.), mo is seeing more court time. last 7 games, he's 12.5 ppg/5.5 rpg/1 bpg on 9 of 21 from three (43%) in just 17.6 mpg.

Unfortunately I believe Culver will have to be attached to a player teams may want from us like Beasley or Rubio in order just to dump him, if his terrible play continues.somuchyummy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 2:10 pm that trade idea i had before the deadline - that many panned - culver for bamba, i believe that idea will be dead in the water in the offseason.

If Culver turns out to be that bad, just let him roll off the payroll and move on. No need to attach anything.

But yeah, I've been interested in what Bamba could do for awhile now. Nice to see him taking advantage of it.

Re: *** Official 20-21 Non-Wolves Game Thread ***
mo's taken awhile - and he's still prone to fouls - i just liked the idea of a change of scenery swap for two struggling recent overall #6 picks because of fit. we have too many wings on this team - orlando is actually pretty wing thin - and we have a need for a defense first big dude with a 7-10 wingspan. seemed doable when the trade deadline approached - but now, not so much. i guess we'll see if culver shows better in these final games and mo has a setback - but i'd bet at this point, orlando is looking at bamba as a part of their bigs crew.
god, maybe orlando would do a beasley trade. they are so short of wings - beasley would be a definite upgrade. beasley for bamba and the pick they get from chicago this year (12ish?). sign me up.

you guys see pokusevski's line last night? 25/9/4 with 7 threes. the kid (he's 19) is doing waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than anyone thought would be possible this year. i wanted to draft him at 17 and stash him overseas for two years! he doesn't turn 20 till the day after christmas. whoa.
last ten games, he's gone 14.5/5.5/3.0 with 1.2 bpg on 39% from three (26 of 67) from i believe the SF position. he's going to be another SOD.

yeah, they were missing harden - and durant was on a minutes restriction - and kyrie got the boot. but that was a seriously banged up lakers squad that beat the shit out of brooklyn tonight. really exposed how weak they are defensively. i don't think they are a shoo in by any stretch.

I can't find the article or tweet now, but I read the other day that since he's been in Denver, Gordon already has more assisted baskets than he did the entire season in Orlando.

Trent just went 17-19, and 7-9 from deep, on his way to 44.
Oh, and Enes Kanter came close to a 30-30 game.

saw this gem the other day - after just 38 games in a Wizards uniform, Russell Westbrook has become the team's all-time leader in triple doubles.

yeah, that's a scary stat about toronto's backcourt last night. both lowry and FVV sit and their starting guards still combine for 64 points.

Tough call, but this dunk was on Clint Capela which has to be taken into consideration.
