I put them at 30, but not a comfortable 30. Remember they're playing 10 less games this year.

Any idea where the 10 fewer games are getting chopped from? Eastern Conference games? Division games? As long as they aren't losing Eastern conference games, 33.

Re: Timberwolves over/under at 27.5 wins
So they cut 10 games from within the conference. Honestly that seems like a stupid way to do it. The should have used this season to test out a more pod based system and 1-16 playoff seeding.
If they're going to try and fit 72 games into a shorter period of time, plus maybe a play-in tournament? At least cut down travel by going with the 5 division model.

Man that is really close. With a shorter season, things needing to work out just right, avoid injuries and infections. I would say 28 wins, so I go with the over, but a half game margin, I avoid that bet if you are talking real money.

For reference, 28 wins in a 72-game season would translate to 30 wins in an 82-game season (39%).

It's sort of a perfect model, though, without losing too many games: 3 conference games per team, 2 non-conference per team.j2j wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 11:40 am So they cut 10 games from within the conference. If you want an equitable 16-team playoff structure, you have to go with the Premier League-type model where it's home and away vs. everyone, but that's only 58 games. Great for fresh legs but poor for revenue.

No major injuries this year and they got a good shot at it.
Dlo and Towns have still played like one game together, right?

They have the number set right. That's right around where they will be.
I say in 82 game season that they win 35.

My first instinct was over easy and I was going to be insulted.
But yeah... shorter season... I still take the over, but am less insulted.

Re: Timberwolves over/under at 27.5 wins
Wolves were 4-10 after all the trades. Equal to about a 29% win rate. Probably a little misleading, as KAT and DLO only played 1 game together. If they do play most of the season together, is that good enough to increase the win percentage that much? Cause they havent really improved the team much elsewhere.
Another thing the Wolves have going against them in the over/under, is that they have shown they aren't afraid to tank, so if things go south after the ASB (will there even be an ASG this year?), theres going to be some curious injuries that sideline our best players, and they will put up the least competitive team they can.
