Perhaps, but then are you suggesting that Crean is a liar?
I’m suggesting he’s doing what every HC would do in his position. Propping up his players. Also, saying a guy spends a lot of time in the gym doesn’t mean he is doing it for basketball. People enjoy working out to look and feel good. Telling me he spends more time in the gym than all his other players doesn’t make me feel like he’s going to be a great player anyway. Wiggins spends a shit ton of time in the gym too.
The kid says himself he’s not very interested in basketball. That’s enough for me not to draft him. I could be wrong, but it’s a huge red flag for me.
He also said in that same article that he loves basketball (plus a lot more). Then Crean comes out and says the guy lives in the gym. The bit about him not watching basketball is immaterial to me as that is separate from film study...I suppose he could have skipped all the film study sessions in college but I doubt it.
All I'm arguing is that you can't focus on one thing when their is legitimate evidence to the contrary at the same time. Let's give the kid a chance before we right him off right away.
He has the lowest box plus-minus (5.5) of any No. 1 pick since the stat was recorded, dating back over a decade. Georgia finished 13th of 14 teams in the SEC with Edwards shooting 40.2 percent from the floor and 29.4 percent from three and averaging 2.8 assists to 2.7 turnovers.
I certainly hope he proves me wrong. The numbers and his words make me very concerned.

Remember when Wiggins was just 1920212223 24...
I hope he proves me wrong, but I have zero faith.
The difference is Edwards has the energy of a puppy that doesn't know where to channel it, so he pisses on the carpet. That problem usually goes away with age, experience, and training.
Wiggins is like the goth kid carving "life is meaningless" into his desk.
Don't know if it's true but the athletic said he had now grown to 6'6" with a 6'10" wingspan. With his crazy strength that plenty big enough to guard even the biggest 3's. Big enough to sneak extra minutes early. Big enough to scare the shit out of 2's when he's at his natural position. Amd I'm betting he show the fan boy rubes what a chump Towns has been by defending like a man from day 1. Unless he never gets the chance because Vanterpool the moron always has Kitty switching on to his man.

And when he continues to be the actual Wiggins in GS you can keep looking as stupid as our coaches and GM's have been with him.

I ended up watching a suggested video of The Professor claiming politics kept him out of the NBA and he wouldnt accept a contract from them now. Thanks!
We've been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty.
The drive to the hole with the shoulder dip at 54:45 or so was nuts. He's gonna be able to plow over anyone trying to move with him. He took out some huge dude guarding him. Edwards is a tree trunk.

Great answer!
That is a solid answer. Is that a question that needs to be asked of a 19 year old kid who just got drafted? Like the questioner almost wants Edwards to be pissed to be in Minnesota?

Who is that ignorant fuck asking that dumb question? He's everything that is wrong with the world right now.
Would he ask a white player how he felt about going to a city with a high black population? Dude just exposed himself as a flat-out racist. I love how Edwards went straight to the heart and rose above that stupid shit head.

yeah wth, you get one question on draft night and you chose to ask this one. Might as well ask what he thinks about the election recounts going on in Atlanta where he's coming from.

Agreed. If the questioner wants to get Edwards’ thoughts on social justice issues, which is fair, this is the nba, there was a better way to do it.
Everybody with a internet connection and a camera thinks that they are some kind of media sensation these days. We need more Sid Hartmans and less Tik Tok morons.

So where does he go if he were in last year’s draft?
No higher than 3rd, right? He’d be behind Zion and Ja, for sure, right?
Would he go before Barrett, Hunter, and Garland? I think so.
For sure behind those two. I think he's on par with Barrett though NBA general managers might think Edwards' body/game has more upside. I didn't watch a ton of RJ with New York but wasn't that impressed with him at Duke. He was good there but he, like Zion had a ton of hype, maybe even more during HS than Zion.

Edwards is also an extremely good slasher/cutter, finisher and a nightmare in transition (combine that with his 3/4 sprint in the 100th percentile). Gonna see some amazing drives resulting in nasty dunks from him.
Has a ton of question marks but he comes in as one of the best athletes in the NBA with skills that will compliment that very well.
I'm all in on Edwards now. You can't teach that athleticism and seeing his personality in interviews and whatnot...he is not Wiggins.
