Would you trade the No. 1 pick, Culver, Johnson, Spellman, and Evans for Ben Simmons?

He's a NBA scout and he's followed by multiple NBA players, Chris Broussard and Jon Krawzzenski aka Jonny Athletic

Yeah the second they offer him you accept. Do not mess with it. Too good to be true though.

Of course you do it. Delete the poll, it's absolutely 100% the option.

BTW, I will put this out there, Simmons will hate Minnesota's winter. We Melbournians can't stand the cold.

Whether he is pro about it, I can't say. How bad is Philly's weather compared to Minnesota?

I don't believe for a minute that the Sixers would trade Simmons for this years #1.

I would be willing to make that trade though. I just don't think it's close to enough to get him.

Simmons is clearly known as a guy that can’t shoot the 3, the NBA is now a 3pt League, so Simmons value as your primary ball handler has to be diminished around the league. There are Teams that he would be a great fit and a bunch where he wouldn’t - IMO Minnesota happens to be one of the teams where he would be a great fit.

I’d throw in 2023 1st as well but still doubt PHILLY does it.

While I hate Simmons as a PG he would be fantastic as a PF his defense is so good he can guard anyone on the court.

PG Dlo
SG Okogie
SF ?
PF Simmons
C Towns

I like that squad

It’s not much better plus Minneapolis a lot nicer city... I’ve been to Philly it’s a shit hole.

Yup I was in philly last May. Other than China town and some sights downtown, the city is pure trash.

Which NBA team says no?

Minnesota Timberwolves get Ben Simmons & 21st draft pick.

Philadelphia 76ers get Chris Paul, Omari Spellman, Jacob Evans & 1st overall draft pick.

OKC Thunder get Jarrett Culver, Josh Richardson, James Johnson & the 17th Pick.

Isn't it crazy, Golden State could make a better offer having our 1st next year and would probably love to trade the top pick for Simmons, but we won the lottery balls?

yes it's a way for the thunder to be rid of paul and his contract - but - right now they've got under contract for next year - darius bazley, terrence ferguson, hamidou diallo, abdel nader, luguentz dort, and shai gilgeous alexander. they are going to want to add josh richardson and jarrett culver to that? that's 8 SG/SFs - and many of the same tier talentwise.

Shai is the point guard of the future. All those other guys are junk. Culver and J Rich would start right away.

Obviously I’d be all for this, however is anyone questioning the fit like I am? Our defensive system calls to switch a lot, wouldn’t that make Simmons’ best attribute, his on ball defense, less effective?

maybe. but bazley, ferguson and dort still figure into their plans (remember dort in the playoffs?). at this point, i think culver, bazley, ferguson and dort are all still in the same tier. plus i think everyone i listed in the first post are under contract next season.

I think Philly despite getting the #1 pick is still in major cap hell with this deal.

Cp3+Horford+Embiid+Harris still way too much money. I'd imagine they try like hell to move Horford this offseason... for anything.

That’s Philly’s way of going all in to win the title. You signed Doc rivers for this. To push all your chips in. Embiid and Cp3 would be killer and ten times the combo of Joel and Ben.

I have lived in both Minnesota and Philly.

Both winters suck balls.

Maybe we can bring Rubio back to teach Simmons how to shoot.
