Lol at Jeff Teague.
A playoff team in Boston hated him, now a rebuilding team with no point guard doesn’t want him either lol

Damn Nets
Hope they lose like the Lakers did when they had Gary Payton and Karl Malone
Rooting for Embiid to kill them in the playoffs

Huh. All the talk centered around Aldridge to Miami and he runs to the Nets.
This is all fuckin' stupid.

well, this and lopsided refereeing are the top two. nba's going to lose a lot of their audience if they continue to allow top teams to do this over and over again. i don't know what they can do.jffl_commish wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 6:53 pm The NBA has to fix this shit, amongst a million other things.
two things that probably could never happen for legal reasons - but first, if a team buys out a player in the final year of a big contract (LMA, Drummond, etc) - that player can't sign with another team for a year. let them go play overseas for a season. make it a pain in the ass for the player - and a pain in the ass for the top teams who want to sign these big names for pennies on the dollar.
and second thing, make draft picks off limits for trades. no draft picks can be part of trades - better yet, if you draft a player, that player must remain with your team for the first 2,3 years of his pro career. top teams toss away draft picks in trades like candy - namely because they are usually later firsts and also because they can always get andre drummond to come and play for them for eleven dollars. this would force all teams to work equally hard to select the right players. the entire purpose of giving the worst teams the top picks is subverted if the top teams don't give a shit about their picks and just go sign big names for peanuts.
There is little difference between the memory of a real event and the memory of a dream.

I kinda understand Aldridge. He's 35. I don't like that he went to Brooklyn, but whatever.
Drummond's only 27. He's got plenty of time. Obviously Cleveland saves money from the buyout, but come on. 70% of the season is over and you're just going to cut the guy loose to finish the season next to Davis and LeBron before walking into free agency in a few months? That's shitty.

The buyout thing in the league is so stupid. Needs to be cleaned up. Buyout after the deadline = no playoffs for the player.

The funnier thing is how much the wolves could use both of these guys right now.

We could really use Gorgui's take-no-shit attitude about now.

They both got dumped for nothing and certainly aren’t difference makers but are better than the crap that this GM assembled. Gorgui especially.

Funniestis that we'd probably be 6th in the west with Thibs as coach.
But we are 2 games behind a team who just broke a 20 game losing streak and who just kicked the piss out of us.
Now let's all listen to Finch explain going small and not playing our best defender ......who isn't a 19year old rookie.

If they kept Thibs, they’d have missed the playoffs after the Jimmy trade season, but made it last year and likely this year. So I do agree with that.Thrillkill wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 9:35 pmFunniestis that we'd probably be 6th in the west with Thibs as coach.

If Thibs had ACTUAL control we'd have kept Butler and dumped Towns and be on our 3rd year of contending for a title.T_J wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 9:38 pmIf they kept Thibs, they’d have missed the playoffs after the Jimmy trade season, but made it last year and likely this year. Oh, and because I never saw anyone post it here did you see the "rumors" at the deadline about Towns? First that Thibs was keeping an eye on him and wanted him in NY? Then that Mia was interested and Butler was on board? Guess what idiot started those rumors. I bet 90% of rubes believed them though.

What's the story behind Aldridge leaving SAS anyway? I've been pretty confused by it. I think it was the first game, post ASB, I had picked him up for a cheap DFS lineup, then moments before tipoff, it was reported that he wasn't going to play....out of nowhere, Pop says that he won't be on the team anymore, and it has nothing to do with discipline and that he's a great teammate, just that he and the team have decided its best they are no longer together...and SAS is in the middle of a playoff run. There is no sense of rebuild there at the moment, otherwise DeRozan would have been in the rumormill.

I thought the NBA was cracking down on players just sitting without being injured? Horford, Drummond, Griffin all recent examples...

They got to the point where they all realized Aldridge could not played basketball very well anymore. Defense was trash and he could not defend in the pnr at all. Jakob Poeltl took his job and never looked back. Aldridge and Griffin are junk players and I laugh that Brooklyn even brought them in in the first place. San Antonio is a class organization and took care of him because that's how they do things.bubu dubu. wrote: ↑Sun Mar 28, 2021 2:10 amWhat's the story behind Aldridge leaving SAS anyway? not sure about LMA, but i think blake still has some gas left in the can. 17 points on 8 shots in his nets debut.

Aldridge also was very injured before they parted ways. The big problem is neither one of those two guys can play more than twice a week if they are lucky.somuchyummy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 28, 2021 12:32 pm not sure about LMA, but i think blake still has some gas left in the can. 17 points on 8 shots in his nets debut.

He’ll be a monster there with Lebron. He’s only 27 and has averaged 17 & 15 the last like 5 years on crappy teams. Dwight looked like a player again last year and he’s washed...I bet Drummond is great there.

Nets vs. Lakers is going to be a hell of a finals match-up.
