After the luke warm reception I received after my last pick, I decided to go with a froob favorite to gain some votes back

G - Kyrie Irving
G - Russell Westbrook / Andrew Wiggins
SF - Bojan Bogdanovic / Andrew Wiggins
PF - Marvin Bagley III / Derrick Favors
C - Hassan Whiteside / Derrick Favors

That team going to play with multiple balls? Some black holes there

Looks like he cut out about half the number of dribbles per shot on that midrange.

In the 7th round, with the 126th pick, the OKC Thunder select

Collin Sexton G Alabama

Sexton is a scoring threat from all three levels of the offense. A 21 year old 2nd year pro, he is averaging 20.8 points per game on relatively efficient scoring. His shooting splits this season are 38% from 3, 50.1% from 2, and 84.6% from the line. We believe he fits in as a combo guard in this rotation that can bring a high level of offense. By all reports, Sexton is an extremely hard worker who despite a lack of size is not a total loss on the defensive side of the court.

sexton is an interesting pick. i think he's basically the new lou williams and would serve a team best as a bench microwave scorer. he's very good at that and pretty efficient too. plus, as you said, he's a hard worker. the D needs a LOT of work. and with his work ethic, maybe he'll make improvements. but his rookie season i think he was rated the worst defender in the league - so there's a hill to climb.

with the 127th pick in the froobdraft, Yummy's Clippers select Larry Nance Jr.

Image

i had nance jr. on last year's squad as my starting PF, so it's great to bring him back after another really solid season as a bench piece for my Clippers. He's a 6-8 240 ultra athletic high flier (7-1 wingspan), strong enough to guard PFs and small ball Cs in the post, but agile enough to stay with quicker PFs and SFs on the perimeter. super solid and versatile defender. good rebounder, runs the court like a deer with fairly basic offensive skills. can put the ball on the floor some and is now adding a 3 pt shot to his game - 56 of 159 this year for 35%. great team guy.

10.1/7.2/2.2 on 64%/35%/68%

Clippers

Kyle Lowry - PG
Khris Middleton - SG/SF
Larry Nance Jr. - PF/SF/small ball C
Jusuf Nurkic - C
Terry Rozier - PG/SG
Jayson Tatum - SF/PF
Christian Wood - PF/C

With the 129th pick, the Boston Celtics select:

Luke Kennard

Image

2017-2018
7.6 pts, 2.4 reb, 1.7 ast, .415% 3pt

2018-2019
9.7 pts, 2.9 reb, 1.8 ast, .394% 3pt

2019-2020
15.8 pts, 3.5 reb, 4.1 ast, .399% 3pt

Per 36 2019-2020
17.3 pts, 3.8 reb, 4.5 ast, .399% 3pt

As you can see, Kennard’s game has developed every season he’s been in the league. He’ll have an even more expanded role next year in Detroit as he becomes a young veteran leader for their squad. He’s also playing for that rookie scale extension so I fully anticipate another step of progression from the just turned 24-year-old.

He’s 6’5” with an ability to knock down shots with his career .402% 3pt percentage. A former Dukie and a heady versatile guard will fit in nicely with my current group of guards and wings.

Can never have enough shooting!

PG: CP3/Murray
SG: Dinwiddie/Kennard
SF: Durant/Gallinari
PF: Millsap/Clarke
C: Adams

One pick to go with a lot of quality players remaining.

With the 130th pick of the Froob Draft the Miami Heat select Goran Dragic! Enjoying the best volume from deep of his career as a relatively young team I feel really good about my mix of vets as they bring alot of grit and all are very savvy solid role players that fit my two young beasts very well. Wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Goran as a dark horse to Lou William's walked away with his first 6th man award this year as I have a hard time not seeing him at the very least as a top 3 contender for that merit. Also feel Goran is as good if not better than alot of PGs selected well before him. Not saying this is a great steal, but he is a nice value here in round 7.

Zion Williamson
Donovan Mitchell
Draymond Green
Marcus Smart
Serge Ibaka
Matisse Thybulle

Awesome pick. He was pretty on my list last round.

Scoring is not an issue with this squad.

That's a team I could see losing alot of games 130-150 with about 3 or 4 guys complaining about not getting enough touches on offense. A couple of squads I see that are built like that!

i had a good and humorous discussion with Son of Yummy this morning about who Sid Hartman is and what he's been to Twin Cities' sports since .... forever. Sid seemed like an old fart back in the 1960s when i'd listen to Today's Sports Hero on CCO with MY dad. we'd crack each other up doing impersonations of Sid back in like 1966.

Kennard's got some defensive limitations because of length and lower end athletic ability - but OTOH, he's an extremely smart dude who just knows how to play - plus he's a great shooter. i predict a long NBA career - unless injuries hit, which have been a little problematic for him.
