Or maybe we take Tyus’s little brother.

i worry about tre having the same problem tyus has - the ability to hit his open shots. winston i think has a lot more going for him in that regard - plus he's just one of those gamers that you know is going to stick somehow - and probably win a bunch games for you. i don't think his chances are solid to be the next FVV - but he's got that dog in him like FVV. i want to add guys who REALLY don't like to lose. pisses them off - i think winston's like that.

anybody watch memphis? i like obi toppin as a possible top pick for us, but even with all these losses piling up - i'm not sure toppin will still be there when we pick. so what do people know about precious achiuwa? seems to check nearly all the same boxes that toppin does - only looks to be a stronger rebounder and weaker free throw shooter. anyway, unless someone tells me he only has 3 toes, i'm liking what i see - and think he'd be there for us as well.

Brett Brown the 76ers Coach went through several shit seasons before they bounced back. He was involved with that plan hense "The Process". I wouldn't dismiss the possibility that Ryan may be in a similar situation.UnFadeable21 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 7:17 pmWe’re not gonna be 5th,SO_MONEY wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 6:47 pm5th? Wolves are 1/2 game out of 5th! I don't think they'll catch the top 4.

is there a reason i'm missing why the nba has the draft before free agency? for the overall strength of rosters and competitiveness, wouldn't it make more sense to do it the other way around?

Can already see what's coming. We will win a top 3 pick and Rosas the idiot will pass on Obi because he's too tall. Because it's the stupidest move that could possibly be made I can almost guarantee it from the idiot.

There's been a push to change that in recent years.somuchyummy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 10:26 pm is there a reason i'm missing why the nba has the draft before free agency? for the overall strength of rosters and competitiveness, wouldn't it make more sense to do it the other way around?
One reason I've seen is so rookies can play in Summer League and still provide August as a dark period to rest, but Summer League is a relatively newer deal, at least in relation to the timing of the draft and free agency.
Maybe they should start the league year a little earlier, start FA earlier, and then hold the draft in mid-July? How would that hinder kids making the decision whether to leave school? Maybe not at all?

If there is a replacement for KAT, Rosas would be smart to take him.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft: Timberwolves with the 5th pick:
our situation can't be that unique - i'm sure other teams are in the same boat. but if you look at our needs, it would be great to KNOW that we had addressed the PG spot with a proven vet either in a trade or thru free agency BEFORE the draft. then we approach the draft with an obvious goal in mind - get the best big on the board to fit our situation. the way it works now, it's way more of a crapshoot. "well, we hopefully got our PF in the draft - let's also hope to hell we can sign a good PG in free agency."j2j wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 6:33 amThere's been a push to change that in recent years.somuchyummy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 10:26 pm is there a reason i'm missing why the nba has the draft before free agency? for the overall strength of rosters and competitiveness, wouldn't it make more sense to do it the other way around?

my precious!!!! it'd be a good bit. go watch some highlight vids though. he's got a lot of tools, but maybe the thing that stood out the most for me is that he absolutely FLIES down the court. extremely fast from one end to the other - and strange to see after so many years of watching KAT and dieng and taj and whomever lumber up and down.
sidenote: remember in the early days, when getting out on the break and flying down the court was something we thought would be a big part of wiggins' game? yoi. maybe our team name should have been the Minnesota Arenajoggers.

I do like him, but he's not a lotto pick IMHO. He still can play his way into one, but he looks limited.

I have no idea why people attach themselves to players to overreach on value who do not have high end upside. You can evaluate BETTER people.Mplsfonz wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 11:58 amThere's no way. 2nd round? sure. He sure didn't help his stock staying an extra year. Re: 2020 NBA Draft: Timberwolves with the 5th pick:
Naw, he’s going to be a first rounder. All time big ten assist leader. Shoots 40% from 3, he’s a field general floor leader. Can run offense and pop the eye. Natural leader. He’s on the small side but I see some Kyle Lowry in him.somuchyummy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 9:59 pmwe could get winston with our second rounder.UnFadeable21 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 6:44 pm I’m taking Cassius Winston

Theo Maledon 6'5 PG who is shooting 34% from 3 with a nice jumper that could improve. Lot of upside.

Top 10 pick is early for him for sure but I’m just sick and tired of now having a capable PG who can run offense and make passes to get our guys better shots and looks around the court.Thrillkill wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 5:21 pmNot a fan. This year is a great year to take a defensive PG. There are a ton. Do we know about that thing? The one where you keep them from scoring?UnFadeable21 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 5:31 pmTop 10 pick is early for him for sure but I’m just sick and tired of now having a capable PG who can run offense and make passes to get our guys better shots and looks around the court.Thrillkill wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 5:21 pmNot a fan.
