Nikola Pekovic...where is he now?

Apparently some big ties to a drug lord in Serbia.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhGTO4wBo1o

Cocaine and guns found in a vehicle owned by Nikola.

Godfather to Dusko Saric's kid, who is the brother of drug lord Darko Saric.

Don't ask me why I got curious about what Nikola is up to nowadays, because I have no idea.

Dude had a game that was perfect for the 90's. Of course he was two decades too late for us.

Yeah. There’s no place for a guy like Pek in today’s nba. And that’s an indictment of today’s nba.

I couldn't get past that either...
I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Darko's (not that Darko!) brother is named Dusko.

I think it’s natural for players to become better shooters.

You can try to stand in the way of evolution but it doesn’t do any good.

Pek was like a 77% FT shooter. He had a decent shot from about 12 feet inward.

It’s become too homogenized. Like a chess board filled with bishops. I liked it better when there were different kinds of pieces on the board.

Charles Oakley probably couldn’t play in today’s NBA. Thats too bad.

Guy's are not better shooters. You telling me Mo Speights is a better 3 point shooter than Bird? (He has more 3's in a year than Bird)

It's the way they have catered to the offense by changing the rules.

You think it's a coincidence Pat Mahomes throws 50 tds in his first season?

Twins breaking HR records etc?

Sports are geared towards the new gen with high scores, tons of scoring and zero defense.

It's the world we with in. Guy's didn't just become so great at shooting lol.

And Beefs right, the game has went backwards. There were so many different aspects to the game at one time. Now all these guy's play the same. Positionless? I guess. Bigs don't have post moves etc no more. Bunch of guy's jacking 3's or going to the rim uncontested.

Sure he could. There’s still guys like Montrezl Harrell who are allergic to shooting, and are board and close in bullies. He scores 17 a game at the rim.

Yeah. There's always going to be a spot for true big men in the NBA. You might not see them dominate any more, but theres always gonna be use for a 7 footer who clogs the lane and gets put-back points...Capella, Harrell, Nurkic, Jordian, Valanciunas, Adams, Gobert, Drummond...Many of them on playoff teams, and traditional bigs, and big parts of what their teams do.

Not really the point, dude. There’s currently more than a few shorty, interchangeable 6-6 wing shooters who can’t shoot all that well in the league.

Could you build a title contender around Hakeem Olajuwon today? I don’t think so and that’s not a good thing.

Gregg Popovich: “There’s no basketball anymore, there’s no beauty in it”.

No truer words have been spoken regarding today's game.

Totally, dude. I'm agreeing with you. Remember Stanley Roberts? We need to sign him up. Or Chris Dudley! Think we could build a contender around him?

We long passed that when the Larry Bird vs Mo Speights comparison was made. So I'm not too concerned.

There was a good talker durung the wolves summer game, where they discussed moving the 3 pt.line back or at least even it out, eliminating the corner 3. They said it would revive the mid-range shot which has sadly died and led to the 'evolution' you see today. They envisioned seeing postups and mid-range shots coming back and brining back dynamic play of all sorts.

It could.be more exciting than 3 after 3 after 3 and I agree with them.

Evening out the three point line would be a great move, in my book.

Well I know beekface was one arguing against it as well as Asshole and ive seen them both post in favor of it now. In fact it seems to be fairly common and acceptable line of thinking now. But of course when I went into detail about why it had to be done years ago they all hated the idea, it was ridiculous.
I still hate the idea.
