I wish 2 way contracts didn't enforce a maximum number of games or time with the big club. They should incentivize teams and players to sign and use these contracts. Something where if a team plays you in the NBA more than the maximum limit, that contract then turns into some kind of rookie minimum that bumps up their pay to a much higher level and doesn't count against the cap for teams. Much like the veteran minimum.

It's crazy that he is not playing. What are they saying is the reason he isn't playing?

then maybe they shouldn't play josh too.

but if, indeed, they are working with culver on the side - giviing him some special lottery pick workout regimen, i'm okay with that. we know he's on the squad. he's got a guaranteed contract. if they're choosing to work him out differently than the rest, i'm on board.

the guy i wish WAS playing is nowell - he of the non-guaranteed contract. but if they can't play him and see how he fares against similar comp, then you know he's just going to be given a contract because no one wants to look like they wasted a pick.

which is unfortunate because there are a number of interesting characters on the SL squad - plus you know that other interesting characters from other teams will be cut before the season starts - and it will be a slight bummer if we go with nowell just because nowell ...2nd round pick thing... and he turns out to not be a keeper.

here's how i currently see the for sures and the possibilities:

that's 13, plus add naz reid - who already has a two way deal - and then (barring any other big news) there are these guys fighting for the last two big league roster spots - plus one more for the last 2 way deal. plus, like i said, you know there are going to be guys from other squads cut later on where you're thinking "whoa, he got cut?"
