Grade Gersson Rosas' First Off-Season with Timberwolves

Post by Decker23 »

Image

Small window to grade, in terms of length of contract, but huge free agency overall that the NBA has had in years.

What grade would you give Rosas so far as GM for your MN Timberwolves, and why? Any concerns? Any praises?

C+

Hard to blame him for no major signings. We didn't have the room without getting rid of some bad contracts.

Liked the trade up to #6 but he boofed it when he missed at getting Garland. Still better to have Culver than what would of been left at #11

Liked his moves of Napier, Bell, Vonleh etc.. But will went and see how these guy's pan out.

He went star hunting and whiffed of DLo and maybe Russ but I doubt they were that serious.

My favorite moves are getting rid of the Munster kid and Saric. Thank you!

C. Pretty average. Didn't fuck anything up but hasn't done anything great either.

Considering what he had to work with B+.

Vonleh, Bell, Layman, Grahm, and Napier for like 10 million is great value/depth.

The Saric and 11 to 6 is fantastic asset management.

Russell would have bumped it to an A

Curious about your opinion on this, is your C+ only because of Garland?

Rest of your post is basically praise for Rosas.

No, what could he do? Garland was picked before he could get him.

I just think it all equals out to slightly above average. No great moves and no bad moves.

The part where you said he boofed it by missing Garland. But ya, I agree with you otherwise.

I meant it by that he was trying to get Garland and did not. Not really ripping him for it.

Will Rosas get a better grade if Wiggins has a breakout year this year, even if he had nothing to do with it?

Does the breakout come from changing how Wiggins plays? The kind of shots he takes, the adjustments to the defensive system fitting his ability better? Or is Wiggins still playing the same shitty basketball he always has, he just makes more shots in this scenario?

Joe Bag'O Donuts from Chaska could have done the exact same job as Rosas has... and you would have approved? Rosas is making more money than you ever will in your life, and you approve of a losing franchise for the next 2-3 years minimum? True north... smh. Niles Standish could be a better GM.
