You are not giving anything up for him in this scenario though.
It isn't even a rumor, it says right in the article it's a fan proposed one
Cole Raines of Fansided’s Sir Charles In Charge created a list of possible deals that could impact the entire league. One of CP3’s potential trade destinations is the Minnesota Timberwolves.
YOu are giving up Wiggins who is still a player. And so is Saric. TO get a 35 year old player that you owe more than $124 million to. Zero interest. Paul will want to be out of here by game 5 and have an injury and miss the next 20, play 2, miss 12 until the season is over and he forces himself out again.Sergeant Rubetube wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:02 pmYou are not giving anything up for him in this scenario though.
That's a bunch of junk for him.
His contract is shorter than Wiggins and he immediately brings this team to respectability. Saric is worthless and so is #43.
The Rockets will be terrible next year if they make this move.
Oh well. Chris Paul still has more trade value than Wiggins and Saric. If he demands a trade after being here we can actually move him and be off the books of Wiggins horrible contract.mlhouse wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:06 pmYOu are giving up Wiggins who is still a player. This coaching staff needs to figure out how to make a Towns-Wiggins pairing work. We have seen the flashes of both players. They need to put it together and the coaches need to make it happen.
Do you see the problem with your argument here? I will give you a second to think it over.Sergeant Rubetube wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:13 pmOh well. No please explain. You think Saric is good. He's not. You think some coaches are going to make a difference in Wiggins Phil Jackson couldn't turn him around and we have the Saunders boymlhouse wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:14 pmDo you see the problem with your argument here? Lets say your proposition is correct and Paul has "more trade value" than Wiggins and Saric. Reasonable proposition. Right?Sergeant Rubetube wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:17 pmNo please explain. Wiggins has had 4 different HC's now. You people are delusional. This roster is trash.
There are all sorts of stupid trades in sports. Maybe they value those guy's more etc.mlhouse wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:20 pmLets say your proposition is correct and Paul has "more trade value" than Wiggins and Saric. Reasonable proposition. Then why would the Rockets trade him for Wiggins and Saric in the first place if he has more trade value? That is just math.
The other note is that once we have Paul and he pouts and wants to force a trade, his value is not 40% of Wiggins and Saric. You get a bit player and a WHOLE LOTTA salary filler.
Saric is a "Bit" player and right now, we can't find anyone to take Wiggins off our hands.mlhouse wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:20 pmLets say your proposition is correct and Paul has "more trade value" than Wiggins and Saric. Most stupid trades in the modern NBA arent "stupid" at all. They are usually done because a team has little or no leverage to make a deal. If we traded for Chris Paul we would eventually have to do a "stupid" trade to get rid of him, with the only value of the deal being addition through subtraction of a disgruntled player.Sergeant Rubetube wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:26 pm

Hell, we just traded Jimmy Butler for two role players last season.
It's not going to happen anyway. It's just a made up scenario so that is what we are talking about.
Houston wouldn’t do this trade. It’s a fan trade idea.mlhouse wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:20 pmLets say your proposition is correct and Paul has "more trade value" than Wiggins and Saric. I doubt they would too. But that wasn't the point of my comments. it is a bad trade for Minnesota too. If we were a team like the Bulls it might be comething to consider. Bringing Paul into a major market would have value ot him. But Minnesota is Minnesota. NO ONE WANTS TO BE HERE and this will be true until they completely turn this franchise around.KevinBaconIsNotMyHero wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:31 pmHouston wouldn’t do this trade.
