Condensed FroobChat Consensus Wolves Big Board - Pick 10

Post by j2j »

Let's crank one out quick before Thursday. Trying to use a poll and edit the OP as we go.

This is the old style that I used to post every year and someone else posted one back in April. I think some opinions have changed since then.

Remember, you're voting for who you would have the Wolves select if they had the next pick and the previously recorded players were already gone. In the interest of time I'm going to assume Zion and Ja are still 1 & 2 on our board. Feel free to nominate guys who you think should be in the discussion for the next pick after the one we're working on if they're not listed. As before, sometimes value becomes more important than fit.

1. Zion Williamson
2. Ja Morant
3. Darius Garland (Beat Barrett 5-4)
4. RJ Barrett (Beat Sekou 5-2)
5. Sekou Doumbouya (Beat Culver 5-3)
6. Jarrett Culver (Beat Hunter 5-3)
7. Coby White (Beat Hunter 5-3)
8. DeAndre Hunter
9. Brandon Clarke
10.

Reminder: This has absolutely nothing to do with other teams, who holds that slot, or what assets we'd have to give up to get to whatever slot is listed.

I’d take Garland at 3. He’d be a perfect fit on our team.

i went garland. i think in today's nba, a great PG means more than a volume scorer.

So now that we’re on #4 officially, does our personal 4 change or stay the same for the games purposes? I voted Culver 3rd for the Wolves, so now that we’re on 4, I should have someone different, correct? Or since Culver didn’t win and become officially #3 for the board should I vote for him again because I see him as the best available? Maybe I sound too confusing.

If I were drafting for the Wolves I would favor Garland over Barrett.

I personally favor Doumbouya over both Hunter and Culver because he has a much higher upside, and I think given his age, at least the same floor.

Not me. I think Barrett's the better player and Garland is a little overrated here.

And while Doumbouya is kind of an unknown, I think he is in that second tier with maybe the next 8-10 prospects.

Unless your opinion of Culver changed, you'd likely vote for Culver again.

The exercise is of the players remaining in the draft, who would you select for the Wolves. Our roster doesn't change at all in this exercise.

Assuming the same people vote, Barrett would likely win, but maybe Monday morning voters are different.

Quite a few BIG Sekou fans in here.

I voted White in this spot. I'm much higher on Garland than White, and think Garland is closer to Morant than White is to Garland, yet I'd still take White here based on our team needs and what I view as pretty similar talent levels left on the board.

i think he looks like a starter with a future. barrett's probably a starter too and will score a bunch of points, but we don't need another volume scorer on the team.

Im not saying you are wrong. I just havent witnessed his play enough.
And what I have seen, he reminds me of Jeff Teague.

I voted Culver @ 5
