Do we really want 75 million tied up in three guys?
How would we fill out the roster? Can he play with Wiggins, or should I say make him better?
Two of the three yes.
I get that, but again, who wants him?
Don't we need to focus on 3 point shooting? He is worse than Rubio......Well, maybe not, but hope you get the point.
Has anyone ever said "I want to be traded to the Wolves"? The Wolves are the Pit of Misery. They will need to somehow hit a Home Run, in a couple drafts, over the next couple years, in order to have a real shot.
Two years ago Kyrie had Minnesota on his list!
Box.
Fair enough... Forgot about that. Irving is a whack job though. Seen his tweets lately?

I will say, be careful what you wish for. I could see many a game where Russell takes 24 shots, KAT ends up with 12 or something dumb like that. Not to mention Wiggins would pout with limited shots.
At least it would be someone good taking those shots.

If you get Russell, your goal is to move on from Wiggins as quick as possible.
Hell, that should be our goal anyway. But who wants him?
Someone who can't sign a free agent but has plenty of money to spend.

I’m a successful consultant for some of the biggest and best companies in the world. I tell you about systems architecture, not the other way around.
https://www.slcdunk.com/nba-free-agency ... -nba-teams Minnesota Timberwolves
Biggest Free Agents: Taj Gibson, Jerryd Bayless, Tyus Jones (RFA), Derrick Rose
Guaranteed Salary: $108,479,948
Stretch Provision Salary: $685,340
1st Round Cap Hold: 10th ($3,533,500)
Potential FA Cap Holds: Jones ($7,332,159), Rose ($1,618,486)
Projected Salary Cap Space: -$12,649,433
I doubt they cut Tyus Jones loose at this point, which means the Timberwolves will be looking at exceptions to add talent to this young roster. Rose’s cap hold is small, so I bet they hang on to those rights.

TT just got wood.
He’s good now and could be really really good in the future.
You’d have to be sure that you’re fine with a KAT/Russell core for years.
I like how their ages line up.
Not a big fan of that core’s D.
I’m not sure bout this one yet.
You wanted Russell over KAT four years ago. Why you backin' down now?

This would be a very interesting acquisition, but almost impossible to do. There are a lot of teams with a lot of cap space this summer. There are going to be some bad, bad, bad deals offered.
We would have to do a sign and trade and figure out matching salaries. That makes it almost impossible because we do not really ahve the assets to move.

This.
The other issue involved is that the #11 pick cannot be traded as a draft pick to make a Russell deal. We cannot negotiate with him until the free agency start line. Maybe that rookie player is valuable to the Nets, maybe not.
i'm not sold on him as a player. i know he was an allstar last year. but was he a capital A Allstar - or one of those brad miller - chris gatling - jamaal magloire allstars? i'm worried that he's going to parlay some nice growth as a player into a max contract that everyone shakes their head at no more than two years down the road.
There is little difference between the memory of a real event and the memory of a dream.

Well that's 2 years longer than it took for Andrew Wiggins...
We've been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty.
I wanted him when he was being traded by the Lakers for hardly anything. He has only improved since that time. I would like to see him here, but we are so damn strung up with big contracts.
