I'd be in favor of the Wolves selecting Cam at 11. I think he'd be a good bench player with big time potential.
Except we desperately need a defensive starting 4 and this draft is lousy with them around our pick. Why on earth would we draft a bench wing?

I would venture that any player we draft would be a bench player regardless of position. I don't belive their point was he would always be a bench player (wing), noted with "big time potential".

Opposite. He got a promise and he's shutting down workouts.
Washington maybe? They've got time to kill.

This. You worry about fit if you are a team ready to go and need a piece.

This team doesn't have anyone on the roster that isn't upgradable other than Kat.

You get the best player available no matter what position.

Trade down for Clarke.

Getting lucky at #11 and taking Doumbouya.

Either of those I would be happy with.

Sekou would be great as would Little, but Clarke not so much...even in a trade down.

He's going to be so good. I'd take him at #3.

lotta talent. and in his highlight reel, i don't think i saw him pass the ball once. that might be a problem with KAT on the team.

He actually has good but developing passing skills, it doesn't project as a problem. There is some tape on it.

I think that's more coaching/scheme related. We've seen him make great passes before.

I think he’s the pick if there.

So athletic, yet can handle it, and has nice touch, including much left hand.

And he plays smart too.

Im not. I feel theres a drop off in talent after the top dozen or so.
I think after the top 12, the hits will become scarce and the misses will become plentiful.

Invites are usually based on who the league is hearing teams like. This is a good sign for the pro-Sekou crowd.

Not really a fan of taking centers especially developmental centers early in the draft given you can get them later on and history is on the side of that. there are exceptions, Hayes is not one. If Reddish falls I can see the argument for that.

The center position is used differently in todays basketball.
There probably going to be just as much developing for Little and Sekou also.....

Unless a center is generational you don't take them early in the draft, you can in all likelihood find one later that is just as good or doesn't have much of a drop off. How they are used is irrelevant and doesn't change my mind. Not saying Hayes may be good, but not sure he is better than Goga or others, none are generational. History says I am likely to be correct.

I gotta agree with Money. Unless the center is a once in a lifetime kind of player you can typically find someone relatively as good later in the draft. Especially if the skills are just dunking and blocking shots.

i think fernando is going to be a good late first round pickup as an nba center. just because he has more of a low post game than some of the others doesn't mean he's a plodding dinosaur. i think he tested faster down the court and better in the lane agility tests than hayes. he's not eye popping as a defender, but he won't be negative - he's stronger than many of the other C options on draft day - carries a ripped nba frame already, no waiting - and is an extremely high motor, active, good communicating, hard playing team guy. probably will come off the bench for more games than he starts in his nba career - but i see him as a really solid rotational player for years to come.

I’m getting that to, but I am terrible at assessing draft talent. This kid just looks like a bit of a freak and already has some skills that have NBA written all over them. He’s the most interesting pick in this draft behind Zion and JA for me.

Maybe Rosas can give him a draft promise and have him tell all the teams in front of us that he has homicidal tendencies.

I love that we had Coby in here for his own workout. Didn't work out with the other 5 players. Wonder if Rosas is interesting in moving up to 6. Rumors are the Suns want to move back.
