we can bitch all we want about wiggins (and i've done plenty), but sometimes we're blind to improvements in his game. he's more engaged now, he seems to occasionally get pissed off, he puts on the jets once in awhile to remind us what a freaking amazing athlete he is. he's playing better defense, which is big.
he had a remarkably horrible 6 game stretch shortly after butler left (including his 0fer against chicago that had me calling for his head). in those six shitshows, andrew went 23 of 85 (27%) from the field including 5 of 26 from three (19%) to average 9.5/2.7/2.2. but, you know, sometimes players go thru shitty stretches - and that certainly was a dilly for wigs. but eliminate those 6 games (just six games) and look at the bulk of his season - the other 28 games he's played.
18.4 PPG on 43% FG (38% from three) along with 4.6 RPG and 2.3 APG
also taking into account the better D and hustle, does this look like the output of a horribly inefficient nba player? i personally feel a little relieved about the direction he's headed in. earlier, i thought he was a lost cause - now i see a guy who has started to contribute better play on both sides of the court on a consistent basis.
If you cherry pick out his worst games you still have him averaging .524 TS%, the league average TS% this season is .557 so even still he's been inefficient by a considerable margin.
His defense has been better but it's important to remember where the bar was. He was among the worst wing defenders in the NBA, he's above that now, good.

He seems positive on that end. That's the makings of a two-way player. That's half the game. That's significant.

I think Thibs is safe the rest of the year unless they go on a really long losing streak. If they miss the playoffs, he gone.
Nah, even if they miss, he will remain
GONE!

I like Andrew enough to keep him. Now if anyone has a plan for replacing Andrew with a AllStar then I'm all ears but lets be honest. No All-Star is coming here on free will. I think Wiggins needs to add 20lbs of muscle. Thats one thing I havent noticed enough improvement in. He needs to get stronger. If he can bulk up and improve hand strength then he can focus on driving more and shooting 3's. I'm hoping Saunders can connect with him and no thibs and butler in his way. FFS though we need some coaching consistency.

Saunders Jr and then Hoiberg and then whoever else after Hoiberg fails to get us passed the 10th seed

Wait, you think Thibs was bringing us to the playoffs this year? The ONLY reason we made the playoffs last year was Jimmy Butler, that is truth. Thibs does nothing as a coach for this team. Nothing.

Bye Thibs!

Zion has about 80 pounds on Wiggins and can jump just as high and is way more fluid in his movements.
Wiggins isn't the same tier of athlete that Zion is.
Keep up the Wiggin's hate.
Wiggins has been looking better. But I just haven't seen him put complete games together. 25 points and great play yesterday in the first half, second half he was a completely different player. There's a disconnect with him and the game somewhere.
Wiggins is a top %1 athlete who just happens to play basketball. He's not the most coordinated guy, displayed with poor dribbling, bad hands and a knuckleball/flat jumper. Thus he is inconsistent in his output.
He's basically Jerry Stackhouse, Rudy Gay or any other high volume chucker.
The turnaround happened when Covington joined and when KAT started beasting. Wiggins is a footnote in most games.
And people are excited that a max player is giving effort...most nights. Can't make it up.

And Zion is the 1% of the 1%

Wigs is good. Has been a legit two way player this season. Other than the Hawks game, he has been solid for the last month.
Haters going to HATE
The bolded is all you need to know about Wiggins. 5 full season, solid for a month! Oh boy!!!!!!
