Tonight is the night Andrew killed the last of his backers.

He is the worst starter in the NBA, not even close.

How can anyone get through to the wolves? He needs to be be benched until further notice.

There's probably some advanced stat out there to show how much time he spends straight up, completely flat footed vs the time he's in a, how do I say this, ready athletic stance. Or how much time he's jogging at a speed I'd even find slow vs ever moving at full speed.

I believe there is one about average speed. I thought I'd heard that before that he's ahead of only a couple players and those were the huge, plodding 7-footer types. Maybe I'm wrong on that one?

Yep, I saw that. His average speed is way down there. Motion-tracking cameras recorded him "running fast" only 4.8% of the time - bottom ten in the league.
Like that, y'all, pop some more shit.

Wiggins averages less than 1 box out per game according to Jim Peterson. That's as lazy as it gets right there.

Add those two items to having one of the worst historical shooting years. In other words, he's pretty worthless. Well, I guess most of us already knew that.

it was weird when we started playing cam reynolds - like an oh wow moment. what do you know? - rangy 6-8 wings can actually run really hard up and down the floor. and for, like, bunches of minutes on end! i'd forgotten.

I lolled.

Seriously tho.

Why does he do things like get the ball in transition and jog it up the floor instead of maximizing the disarray and attacking?

These are the dynamics where players with his athleticism make their money.

Drives me up the wall.

Turnovers?

He aint the greatest ball handler and tends to get the ball knocked away dribbling in crowds.
If he doesn't see an open lane he is content to transition into a half court offense.
But I agree, Wiggins doesn't have the killer mentality needed to go with his athleticism.

occasionally you see wiggins rev up into the range of "killer mentality". but there's often no positive result to it because he doesn't have the strength to seal the deal. wiggins is always going to be less than he could be because of motivation/hustle issues, but a lot of what drives us crazy could be mitigated by adding 20 pounds of muscle.

I don't think he has the desire to be great.
I really don't think he loves the game enough.

Not just a team high, but a game high -29 plus minus tonight against the Rockets for Wiggs.

Also had more shot attempts than points with his 6-17 shooting and 14 pts

Last night was textbook.

Demonstrated many of the behaviors that are why he still sucks. Among them:

1. NEVER denies the ball. Easy catches were the norm.

2. Turnover city. His dribble was miles high and his hands were stone.

3. Zero anticipation. It didn’t matter who he was guarding. Shot clock winding down? Find Wiggins’ matchup! Wiggins is 8 feet off his man, who calmly catches and drains a J, most often a three. Happened at least 5 times.

seems to me he's also looking smaller and even skinnier than before. i have no idea how this cam reynolds thing will play out - not expecting much - but it's interesting to see the two side by side. reynolds looks (and is) much bigger. both 6-8, but reynolds has at least 25 pounds on wigs. and here's the deal. check reynolds' info from college and he was listed as 6-8 195 pounds. i know every body is different, but who'd like to bet on which player has spent more time working on improving their strength so they could be a better pro player? worst thing that ever happened to wiggins is that he was virtually escorted to the head of his draft class. i wonder how much he's had to work for anything in his life.

Worst thing that happened is that he was allowed to be such a high usage player before he earned it. He was a high volume chucker since day 1. He won meaningless awards during a season when his only competition blew his knee out. He needs a good humbling. Bench him, or deal him for peanuts. Whatever it takes to change his way of life, or move him and cut your losses. There are other better, more hungry players available every night than him.

I remember when ESPN had his high school games on. I never saw anything in him then, and I don't now. Shitty shooter with a noticeably bad handle. Black hole. He was labeled athletic as all get out, but he looks like a pansy with the ball. He's a good dunker from what I hear, that doesn't like to dunk. Super stupid player. Makes J. McGee look like Jordan between the ears.

Hindsight is 20/20.

Wiggins was always inefficient, however he’s been getting worse since Butler arrived.

Who Wiggins is now, is half the man he was.

I didn’t see anyone claiming that would happen.

It’s an insult (his further decline) added to injury (his inefficient play in the past).

I’m not sure there’s another player who’s had this type of arc.

Fuck no..

LordNu you are right to drop this turd
I doubt Wiggins is going anywhere, so we can piss and moan about him or support him.

Im not much for whining and complaining so I choose to cheer for Wiggins.
I'll cheer for him since he's on the team. But I'll also bitch when he plays terrible, which is basically every game now.

That's where I'm at.

He'll always be teasing us every now and then.

Can't the Wolves just waive Wiggins and hope someone signs him? Even if he clears waivers and signs after the fact, that would be a bit of a discount instead of paying him the full 150 million. Or do i not understand the NBA waiver system?

Anything faster than a walker would be an improvement at this point.
