Butler is having a great game, and is clearly fatigued from the illness he is recovering from...

Benz just brought up MJ's finals performance when MJ had the flue.

Benz has been better this year. However...

Tonight he kept trying to do mental math the whole game.

"First lead the Wolves have had against Miami in 119 minutes of play."

"The starters have accounted for (whatever) of the total points scored tonight!"

After the 3rd quarter: "The Heat have not lost a game all season when leading after three quarters!" Dude, they've played 5 games. They have 2 wins. Relax.

He's part of the bit though. Gotta love him.

Watched the Heat feed tonight, their announcer was giving running season tallies for 3pt makes for individual players ("That's Olynyk's 8th three point make of the year!"). Kinda made me appreciate Benz just a little.

Sounds like Benz has a new favorite phrase. Literally every shot "rattles out." It doesn't matter if it hits the back iron, hits the backboard first, or barely grazes the front of the rim, the ball always "rattles out."

Benz, it's all about useless numbers late for him. I know he's a stat guy, I'm a stat guy but he gives them out at the worst times.

Like tonight down, 25 points late in the 4th. "Well the Wolves can still score 100 points here." Who cares if they score 100 points, they got owned tonight.

Didn't see the home opener on tv since I went. Was going through the dvr and watched it and during the segment before the start of the game where they talk to Benz and Jim Pete for their thoughts on the game. (paraphrasing)

"Welcome home to the city of Minnealpis Minnesota" Followed by a second of awkward silence as it felt like he internally debated correcting himself but decided not to

About 2:30 left to go in the game, Wolves only by 11, and Utah has all the momentum...

Benz starts talking about how the final score of this game will be a lot closer than what the game actually was...

Man, Harlan and Tucker were awesome. The best tandem was Harlan on the radio with Hanny. During blowouts, Harlan would take calls, and Hanny would pretend to be a fan calling in. He'd talk in hilarious voices, and be these goofy characters. Harlan would be laughing so hard, he'd go stretches where he couldn't speak to call the game every now and then. Looooooong time ago.
