Does that make him a UFA or RFA?

I feel bad for the dude. He seemed to have a skill set that would've been a big help.

So you're saying this means his foot will never heal? Because it doesn't seem to be a doctor's report. Or are you saying that we can't re-sign him now that we non-tendered him? Because that's utterly untrue. You get he's on our team right now right?Sid Hartman wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 12:23 pmCan’t make the club in the tub...he might break record for least amount of playing time by a Wolves first rd pickThrillkill wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 12:12 pmAnd how on earth does this news lead to that conclusion?Sid Hartman wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 11:47 am Like I predicted I doubt we ever see him wear a Wolves uniform ever again...foot issues and big guys don’t mix well. we have a relationship with the guy already, no other team really knows anything about the guy so its not like he's going to have a ton of suitors knocking down his door. We're just as likely to re-sign him than another team would be to woo him away, presuming we even want him back in the first place.

The wolves got Sam Bowie’ed
Wasted 16th overall pick. I never understood it drafting a center when we already had Towns and Gorgi

Get back to me the minute he steps back on the floor for a meaningful minute of action in an NBA game. Foot injuries and big men do not mix. Look at some can’t miss guys who had issues with feet they are more likely to reinjure and now he’s has jacked both of them up in 2 yearsThrillkill wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 12:36 pmSo you're saying this means his foot will never heal? And how exactly does us not guaranteeing his 3rd year act as your doctor's report on his feet?Sid Hartman wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 12:58 pmGet back to me the minute he steps back on the floor for a meaningful minute of action in an NBA game. Has it occurred to you that maybe we don't want to pay him 1st rounder 3rd year money?

This is pure business just like making Jimmy the 4 year offer. If The General is healthy in July, we can offer him a lower amount. Most likely, he is another 1st rounder thrown away. Can't predict guy's breaking feet, so I don't blame anyone here except Collins would have been better to pick there.

This is weird. At least keep the guy until his rookie contract runs its course. It isn't like Patton's salary is going to be a breaking point for this organization

I still have hope for Justin Patton. Or is this really the death knell here? I still think he's got a chance to come back this year.
If this rehab goes south again. Yeah, then it's probably not going to happen. But you never know!

This news sucks. I expected we'd keep him around still till the end of his rookie deal. He must be really banged up.

Re: Bye Bye Patton
If they thought he would play this year and would show anything they’d pick up the option, look at how many players in NBA history drafted in 1st rd have not had their third year option picked up. By declining it and he shows anything this year (which will be a miracle) you’re now bidding against everyone. It’s a sign that his medicals are not good man. Look it up, 4th year option for players get declined very rare the 3rd year isn’t especially with where he was draft and the costThrillkill wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 1:12 pmAnd how exactly does us not guaranteeing his 3rd year act as your doctor's report on his feet?Sid Hartman wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 12:58 pmGet back to me the minute he steps back on the floor for a meaningful minute of action in an NBA game. Does seem a little....cheap. What is he even making as a 16th overall pick in a 3rd year ..not THAT much. Glen Taylor motivated???

Just looked it up $3.1 million for next year. That's not a lot...in NBA terms.

Wolves rejecting a one year deal for $3 mil? This says a lot about his health.
