Almost as impressive as a young man that once scored 4 touchdowns in one game at Polk High, including the game winner against Spare Tire Dixon!

Re: Bye Bye Patton
What can we offer to pick him up? Would we have to offer a full NBA contract?
Does a two way work? I always wanted to keep him, and would have preferred trading Dieng. Still could get something for G as he doesn't fit long term anymore.

Not familiar with this gentleman. Get back to me when he graces an NBA floor again.

Shocker that you don't know.
Absolute shocker. Maybe watch a Wolves game? Notice that Dieng is our 3rd best player and 2nd best 3 shooter? Notice he plays 10 minutes when Towns plays? Know why? Too tall. Because the idiot and all his lovers like you think height isn't important in basketball. It's actually a minus. IN BASKETBALL.

God, every single team used to have a slow-footed big just like this twenty years ago. Those were the salad days, my dude.

Re: Bye Bye Patton
he was waived by the sixers in early april 2019 - then signed with OKC in early August. there were a number of us who, during that 5 month stretch when he was teamless, said that we should pick him back up on the cheap. another way to repair some of the damage of the butler trade. if he goes on to have a good career, count it as another missed opportunity courtesy of YOUR minnesotaaaaaaaahhh timberwolves. OKC has him to check out for the next three years at a total cost of around $5.5M. we've got naz tied up for the next 4 years at a little over $6M. how nice would that have been to have both those guys to develop over the next 3-4 years at a total cost under $12M. bah.

The guy was and is a huge injury risk, in fact we wasted two years and however much money on him.
And he’s done NOTHING in the NBA.
So pipe down, D-League.

Re: Bye Bye Patton
his tenure here was extremely disappointing. but we wasted nba scale peanuts on him $wise - $2.2M. still think we blew an obvious opportunity to pick him back up on a cheap contract when he was unemployed for 5 months in 2019. it would have cost us hardly a thing - i think $700,000 - and was a possible way to recoup some of the loss in the butler trade. he's only 22. if he winds up having a nice career as a viable nba big, that's our loss.thinktank wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 7:30 pmCalm down, kid.Thrillkill wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 4:00 pmShocker that you don't know.

It’s everybody’s loss but OKC.

Re: Bye Bye Patton
or... you could see him as a big with talent who might pair really well with KAT. it's just the Gleague, right? so the competition sucks, right? or not. south bay lakers squad - the team that patton beat down the other night has on its roster travis wear, kostas antetokounmpo, marcus allen, devontae cacock, reggie hearn, talen horton tucker, andre ingram, demetrius jackson, zach norvell, david stockton, etc. in other words, these guys were all recent big time college players. a squad with this talent level would easily be a favorite to win the ncaa this year. and patton destroyed them. so, IF he had done this in an actual college game against a really good team, wouldn't that have made your radar perk up a bit? like hey, maybe we should draft this guy? only instead of using a lottery pick to get him, it would have been a phone call to his agent and a $700,000 contract.

I'd always said I thought a healthy Patton had the potential to be a good pairing with KAT.

Holy crap they waived him. Let's get another tall guy to get stapled to the bench. He'd be our 3rd best 3 point shooter. He can sit next to our 2nd.

Traded Roby whose contract is guaranteed next year for Patton whose contract isn't guaranteed so they can cut him and create the roster spot for WCS.
