NBA2K 19

Post by Rusty Kuntz »

Anyone get it yet? After the disappointing upgrade from Madden 18-19 I am hesitant to buy this, although I probably will. Any first impressions?

Haven't tried it but I'm done with sports games.

I am going to give this a pass since I feel 2K has been extra slimy theese past few years with micro transactions and unfair balancing toward purchasing VC or card packs for MYTEAM.

It's still the best basketball franchise, but they have to win me back.

Completely agree! But I just downloaded the Prelude, you can start my player for free and it's pretty good!! I won't drop 100 on the game, but the regular version comes out the 11th and I might get it. For my player you are undrafted and start in the Chinese league..

I'm done with Madden and 2K. 2K was fun to play but pretty much impossible to make progress online without buying VC. MLB The Show is great though.

I'd like to start out with a team in about 1980 but then trade and manuver as everything I could give to get as many picks in 1984 as possible. It probably sounds lame to a lot of you, but I think it would be fun to draft Jordan and Hakeem to the same team and play through their careers.
Everybody on Wolves Chat would just go back and draft whoever we missed out on in whatever year draft. I knew Giannis was the pick the whole time!

MLB The Show is still fantastic if you play franchise. Online mode sucks for it but I don't get into that much.

I broke down and got it.. Gotta say it's pretty good! The game had me when I started it up and Lil Troy Wanna be a Baller was the first song while it was loading.. I'm playing my team right now, you select your favorite team and they give you 10 cards for players. I'm playing the challenges, like old playoff games you have to win, and my squad with the random cards is pretty fun, Rubio, Monk, Porter Jr, Favors, and KAT, with a bunch of nobody's on the bench. Good game!

I bought it. DIdnt even realize it dropped until yesterday.

I play strictly, My League. Coolest thing, is the historic drafts. You can download basically any draft ever, each year. So of course the first thing I did was download the 95 draft, and traded KAT for the #1 pick to get KG.

small complaint about the rookie KG in this game...he is a PF/C, when we all know he was a SF/PF his first couple years. His athletic ratings are also below the league average for PFs...KG was the godfather of the new age PF...super athletic, who can guard all positions. His hustle is also a 78, ten points below the average PF in the game. What?! KG hustle rating being low? It should easily be in the 90's, even the rookie version.

Currently playing out KG's rookie season in my league right now. Downloaded the 84 class to unleash MJ on the league.

This game dumb-founds me. I do franchise mode for the 2K's, and usually just play GM and have CPU play CPU to see how my team does, while I do some other shit.

In this game, I orchestrated a team of getting a rookie KG, followed the next year by getting rookie MJ...trading away basically everything in the process to get the two...so, basically a team of MJ and KG and some scrubs...I build the ancillary pieces up by simulating a couple seasons, and the team still blows. KG and MJ at his point are both in the high 90's for ratings.

I decide to start over at year one. Trade Butler and Wiggins and a few picks to get the #1 pick to take KG, and get some other picks, which nets me Damon Stoudamire as my starting PG (76 overall)
Jerry Stackhouse (80 overall)
Brent Barry (78 overall with a deadly 3 point shot)
KG (87 overall)
KAT (94 overall)

and they still suck! 5 games into season one, and they are 0-5.

I bought this game over the weekend when I traded in Madden 19 and UFC 3 to get this for free.

It's pretty fun but I'm garbage at it....well MyPlayer at least. I had to cave and buy $20 worth of VC since I'm sick of having to grinf my way through with a 62 overall player going against LeBron James.

I can't wait to get into the franchise modes which are always amazing.

Have you stopped to consider that you just might not be very good at the game?

What's your bench look like?

I recommend you adjust the difficulty.
Like I said, I do CPU vs CPU. Difficulty doesn't matter. I've figured the game out now though, and it's broken. I can't lose.

Is that any fun? I mean, I usually sim through a good chunk of the season after I've finished trading 97% of the team, but I still select some big moments or big games to play throughout the year.
I find it fun for me. I'll have it in the background when I have some work to finish up at home. Get to see how your team is shaping up.
