Rodents on a roll!!

Post by Hornets »

Not predicting an NCAA title mind you, but the Dinkytown fellows are playing REALLY good hawkey right now and Motz has them trending in the right direction. Going to the game next Saturday and hoping this trend continues!

Man have they turned it around. Always best for college hockey when the rodents are relevant. Maybe they can start getting fans back at the Mooch. Far different team than when UND played them back in November

It's been fun to watch. That stretch from late-Oct into the break was hard to stand but 7-1 since. Still a lot of work ahead of them on the road after they host (a much improved) MSU next weekend. They cannot drop the ball in that series nor @PSU if they have even a slim chance at getting in via PWR. Good news is I can stream 5 of their last 8 and likely any games from the BTHC tournament.

Nice workmanlike effort vs Da Spartans tonight results in a 4-1 victory. I'll be at the Mooch tomorrow so if anyone wants to meet up for a beer I'll be the one wearing a maroon Minnesota Gopher jacket!!

Tough game tonight...the boys played SO well the first period and a half and shoulda been up 2 or 3, but faded badly in period 3 and end up with a disappointing 4-2 loss to Sparty.

Fun game tonight at Notre Dame and the Rodents come out with a shootout victory. I am SO psyched about what this team can look like next year, and still hold out hope they can sneak in the NCAA's this year.

what is there to bite on. it is the truth. Gophers are not playing good hockey. They are playing good enough to beat bad hockey teams.

From what I have watched they are a totally different team than when the Sioux took em behind the woodshed. Young team that is starting to grow into their own. They just tied Penn St in their barn tonight, where the Nittany Lions have had their way with them the last 6 games there

Rodents with a 2-1 3rd period lead can't hang on and the Nittany Lions come out on top 3-2. Motz has his boys playin much better but they just aren't quite there yet....

Let that one get away from them for sure. They went into the a hockey version of prevent with the lead late, then got completely lost during the game tying goal. You can't stop moving your feet and expect to hold off a very good team with 10 seniors playing at home.

Rodents dominate but lose in a shootout to the Wolverines....still pick up a point and can tie Penn State with a win tomorrow (not sure how the tie breaker works there).

Penn State owns the tiebreaker (12 conference wins to Minnesota’s nine), so unfortunately they would get the bye. A victory Saturday would give Minnesota a share of the title, plus the No. 2 seed and home ice for the best-of-three first round.

The tie also helped the Gophers in the PairWise Ratings, the formula the NCAA uses to fill its 16-team tournament field. Minnesota moved up one spot to No. 13. (per Star Trib)
