2022 Gophers Recruits

Aligbe was quietly a beast last Saturday in Waseca. So good on the glass and on the defensive end. You can see he’s got offensive talent, but knows when to just go with the flow of the game. He didn’t have to do a lot of scoring, but still fills the stat sheet.

Ryan James said Eli doesn't have a cellphone therefore no social media... crazy! He sounds like he's on a Mauer type track (not as highly rated of course) but could play D1 in one of three sports? Not sure what he does in the spring... baseball?

It wouldn't surprise me about the cellphone deal. Shit's weird down there in that part of the state!

I'm not sure what he does in the spring, to be honest. I know when the Notre Dame offer came, there were rumors about him trying to do basketball and football. But, those were rumors that I have no way of proving. Social media gossip, basically.

I remember when he was in 8th grade, and playing with both brothers, I felt like he'd be the best of the three. I honestly didn't see it as much this year, but I think that was a combo of Noah being such a freaking stud for them, and Eli locking up with the opponents top scorer (from the games I watched). He doesn't have the prettiest of shots (none of those boys really do), but he's a very efficient player, and can do a ton of things for a team. I'd love to see him go to the Gophers, but it's going to be damn tough to compete with football offers.

Holloman and Hurlburt look like they'd be nice pieces. Tons of talent obviously local for 2022 with Heide, Aligbe, Nnaji (Elvis), and more.

That dude could be something pretty special as he starts to catch up to his growth. Potential back-to-back years for Minnesota having a #1 pick in the draft? How crazy would that be, especially since it's the same HS?

Yes. Kalscheur and Robbins will be in their last year (assuming they stay). Out of all the new players they add you'd hope they bring in a couple grad transfers (Ish El Amin?) so they can keep some spots. The very strange deal of this all is everyone got a free year so Kalscheur and Robbins are still technically juniors next year? I don't think it's discussed enough how many seniors can stay on and not count towards your scholarship numbers... strange deal!

Sucks but I was reminded his brother played for Otzelberger at SDSU. Also he really liked playing with Lipsey for D1.
