This is one they can not lose. Which of course in true Minnesota sports fashion means they'll get drilled.

This is flat out embarassing and unacceptable. Illinois looks more like a 13 win team than we do. Pitino needs to go if we lose this game

The collapse was going to come sooner or later. You just can't win consistently without a PG and with horrific FT shooting.
I've lost all hope that Washington will ever be worth a damn. I'm 75% convinced he'll transfer after this year, and I'm ok with that.

Pretty poor officiating, but an even poorer performance by the Gophers.

Re: Gophers @ Illinois
Earlier in the game, I heard the commentators mention something about Underwood's recruiting, which is that he specifically goes after players who have won championships at the highschool level. I always find that at whatever level, coaches/GMs who bring players in with a specific type of player in mind, tend to do better than teams that recruit strictly based on talent (sans some special teams like Duke/Kentucky/Kansas, etc...). This Underwood guy hasnt been at Illinois long, they will continue to trend up for awhile if he keeps recruiting to his specifics.
Another example of this is Michigan. They recruit kids based on fundamentals. A lot of coaches kids, and high IQ types.

Somewhat serious question; is this the beginning of the end for Pitino?

I feel for ya. When you typed this, I damn near went and bet. Couldn't do it though. I never thought this team was going to be any good this year. They sucked me in to believing for one game.
They are who I thought they were. Amir Coffey has to be one of the most disappointing Gophers of all time.
Get Pitino out of here. Sorry, you can look at all the recruitment rags you want. It's a myth he recruits well.
Who are you going to remember from the Pitino era? Murphy is it imo. His senior year completely wasted.
One positive.... Oturu looks like someone who can dominate the conference in the future. Get a coach in here that can win with him and develop him correctly.

I put $20 on the Gophers tonight. Standard bet for me is around 10. Seemed too obvious tongight.Sergeant Rubetube wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 9:51 pmI feel for ya. Re: Gophers @ Illinois
Dawn Mitchell is the worst at reading highlights....every play she was explaining for tonight's game was 1 play behind the entire time....that's normal for her. Think by now she'd be better at timing things correctly.

Just emailed Dawn Mitchell letting her know her highlights were off from her description! She blamed the video guy for starting them too soon and said it will be corrected for the 10pm news, and she thanked me!
