Winfield going pro
Good for him, great career! Wouldn't mind the Vikings grabbing him in a mid round.

Re: Winfield going pro
I know a lot of steam was towards him going pro, but for some reason I believed he would stay for one more year.
Regardless, always good to have guys going to the NFL.

Figured he would go. Good for him. He’ll be a great ambassador for MN in the NFL.

A move he had to make...his collegiate value could not get higher next year so time to go get some $$!!

Was hoping he’d stay, defense needs leadership next season. He’ll do well at the next level.

Re: Winfield going pro
Can't wait to see him as a pro, just please, not with the Packers.
Best Gopher DB in my lifetime since Tyrone Carter.
Every guy that the Gophers turn pro is a big boost to the program. Would of course be great to see Antoine come back another year, but he's absolutely making the right decision here.

Best highlight video I could find of him.

He looks like the Honey Badger in these highlights...blowing plays up in the backfield, and looking for turnovers everywhere else. And then when he gets the turnover, he isn't done, he's looking to go the other way. Honey Badger did it with forced fumbles, Antoine did it with INTs.

He's set to graduate this spring, isn't he? If indeed that is accurate and PJ truly has his players' best interests at heart, he shouldn't let him come back even if he wanted to. Would love to see him wearing purple like his old man--one of my all-time favorite Vikings.

Re: Winfield going pro
Bummer to see him go but it's not unexpected and I think he's ready. I have no idea how he projects out as a pro, but he seems like a very high quality guy that will represent the M very well. Good luck to him.
