Swarles was Swarley's own bit that he ran himself. It was his alter ego but pretty much the same as Swarley except he had a Chicago White Sox avatard.

Kurt Melby



Kurt Melby, 35, of Greenbush, MN, died on Monday, August 12 at home in Greenbush.



Kurt Lynn Melby, the son of Eileen Waage and Stanley Melby was born June 13, 1978 at Greenbush, MN. He graduated from Greenbush-Middle River High School, Class of 1996. He attended Brown College in Minneapolis and after graduating, attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth studying Graphic Design. In 2000, Kurt started work at The Grand Casino in Hinckley, MN as a Graphic Designer. Later he worked for Graco in Minneapolis. He started his own company in 2007, “Blue Fusion Designs,” which he owned and operated until the time of his death.



He was a member of the United Free Lutheran Church of Greenbush.



Kurt enjoyed spending time with his family especially his Grandma Vic and his niece and nephew. He also enjoyed working on the farm, fixing up his Grandpa Selmer’s old tractor, following all sports, especially the Minnesota teams. He enjoyed riding the Ranger and spending time with his dog, Storm and his cat, Pinta. He loved music, movies, photography, cooking and spending time on the computer.



Kurt is survived by his parents—Eileen Waage and Stanley Melby of Greenbush.

His sister—Tanya (Mark) Glad of Greenbush.

Grandmother—Victoria Waage of Greenbush.

Nephew—Andrew Glad and Niece—Jordan Glad.

Uncle—Loren (Karen) Melby of Elk River, MN.

2 Great-Aunts—Lillian Howdahl of Greenbush and Mae Borreson of Strathcona, MN and 1 Great-Uncle—Milton Erickson of Newfolden, MN and many other relatives & friends.



He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather—Selmer Waage and his paternal grandparents—Millard & Emma Melby.



Funeral Services were held on Friday, August 16, 2013 at in United Free Lutheran Church of Greenbush with Pastor LeRoy Petersen, officiating. Robin Waage was the organist and special vocal music was provided by Jody Kirkeide and Lindsey Krank. Casket Bearers were Mark Bratland, Bev Starren, Kevin Borreson, Karla Nelson, Kim Borreson, Kathy Moose, Tanya Kotrba & Ross Klawitter. Interment was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, near the farm at rural Greenbush. Arrangements were with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush.
