Re: The new corvette
How many would rather have something like a ...'67 Chevy Nova SS....or a '66 Ford Falcon?

This, it's cool ass looking, but would never guess it was a vette.Slim Shady wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2020 3:32 pm Love the look, not sure if it looks like a corvette though

Drum brakes, leaf springs and live rear axles.
I don't think I need to say much more than that.

Good deal. Then I will get started on making a list of things to mock you about concerning your future car.

There was a drag race for regular street cars in southern Oklahoma a few weeks back. I flew down and rented a new Mustang GT to race. Pretty incredible car, with power everything and ice cold A/C in the summer. Had to launch in 2nd gear to avoid completely blowing the tires off on the starting line, and shifted pretty early so it wouldn't turn sideways on the 2-3.

Re: The new corvette
So I was just playing around with the configuration deal on Chevy's website because I cant be bothered to do my job or anythingcmd24 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2020 4:07 pmI was surprised when he said the MRSP on a Vette was around $55k. I'm not sure why, but I guessed it would've been higher. I can't remember what he said they added to it, to get it up to that $84 mark. They decided to do the Museum delivery (I think that's what he called it? We were playing poker, so there was other people talking at the same time), and get it themselves, as opposed to having someone ship it up here.
It's not difficult at all to get it to 80k or more...
There are about 4 or 5 ways to upgrade the performance, 4 or 5 ways to upgrade the suspension (each of these going for between $2,000 and $5,000), There's one ugly chrome wheel option that is included in the base price, but a handful of better looking options for another grand. The list of piddly stuff like this would go on for pages.
Then there's the trim levels. There are a handful of creature comforts that I could see wanting in the 2LT trim level, vs the 1LT. (Ex. Head up Display, Sirius XM with 1 yr subscription, Wireless phone charging, Heated seats and steering wheel, Sat Nav and an upgraded Bose stereo system). I probably wouldn't need/want them all, but that's not how that works. That's an extra $12k.

Seriously...it's a small rectangle on top of a larger rectangle with 4 wheels at the bottom. Not saying it looks bad or anything. That's actually a clean looking example, but it really does look like baby's first car drawing.

Not one computer in that Nova.
Vise grips and a 12 pack and you can fix anything on it.
