Kia Teluride got major props at C&D. For what that's worth.
The 4 runner was not well received. Their verdict boils down to "unless you're going off road, you're better suited with the competition" or something to that effect

Toyota has pretty much switched auto sensing 4wd. She wouldn't have any issues. Insane resale value on these too.

You should look at the Teluride tho.

Yeah I did see that on the Teluride. I'm just not a huge fan of how it looks inside or out, and the resale is important to me. I knew this going in, but it's still shitty. I bought my Kia Sorento new, ordered in to get the exact one I wanted, with some special options like a 3rd row seat, etc. Anyway. $28k in 2012. I've taken very good care of it, it's garage kept, has all the maintenance records, and unbelievably doesn't even have a door ding on it... It's probably worth about $5k on trade right now. Maybe less. I found a comparable one on a lot for $8k. Same year, miles, and options. It's just a hell of a hit, but it's been 7 years, and that is to be expected. The good news is I'll probably keep it and sell the ColLola. Then the Kia will be my puts around town car, which isn't bad all things considered.
Honestly, I think the Korean cars of the last 4-5 years will be looked at like Toyota and Honda going forward from a resale POV.

You know... I'm right around the statistical half way point in age for a White mid-western American man. Maybe I should just say fuck it, and buy a Corvette or something. I could always blame it on a mid-life crisis. It's like a get out of jail free card, isn't it?
Might I suggest a Ford Fiesta ST?

They've been saying this about Hyundai for the past 7-8 years and while it's significantly improved from 15-20 years ago they aren't keeping pace with Toyota. Toyota has separated from Honda as well.

That said, Kia has made significant strides since 2012, at least in initial quality. The jury is still out for long-term ownership which makes the Teluride a riskier proposition when resale is a big factor for the buyer.

IMO, I love the look of the 4Runner as well. Abe would not be making a bad choice getting one.

I thought you were looking at your old man's truck though, Abe?
