Agreed.

Tesla claims they drastically reduce drag, thus increasing battery life.

Well, I own a Prius. My daughter drives it. Just last Tuesday, someone stole the catalytic converter out from under it.

It cost me about $1,400 to replace it, have it installed, and adding a theft-prevention plate to the underside of her Prius. Unfortunately, I only had liability insurance on it. :x

That's fucked. That happened to someone at work in the parking lot last year. They can get it out in seconds with a saw.

Yep. You need to remove two 14-mm bolts and cut a pipe between the resonator and the 2nd cat. Most thieves can finish the job in less than 3 minutes.

I added this to my kid's Prius in order to slow down the process in the future.

$160 shipped. Hopefully, it will be worth it!

Oh, and BTW... they caught the guys who stole it recently. Four of them. All from Frogtown. All Hmong. My cat wasn't among the TEN that they had in their possession when they were caught though, so I won't get it back.

No whitewalls. IMO those belong on a 84 Ford Station Wagon. :coolio:
Disagree. I think it looks great with the whitewalls.

Disagree. I think it looks great with the whitewalls.
Your ride, your decision. Trim rings w baby moon hubcaps or Cragar chrome rims are still my style. 8-)

The problem with these little Mazda trucks is that the bolt pattern is 6x5.5 (6x139.7). It's really hard to find 14" rims with that bolt pattern, including moonie hubcaps (which I agree with you are sweet). The chromies in the second picture are actually Nissan wheels, not Mazda ones.

55 Chevy Bel-Air. 59 Chevy Impala. 64 Ford Galaxie. 68 Plymouth Duster. 72 Mustang. all with baby moons/trim rings. After that, when I had some money, switched to Cragar SS rims.
Those all have 6x5.5/6x139.7 bolt patterns? That's news to me.

Some GM trucks have that bolt pattern, but the bore is too small to fit on the Mazda spindle, so you have to machine the bore hole to a bigger size in order to fit on my truck. Not worth the time or effort IMO.

Took her out for a nice first-day-of-spring cruise today.

She drives as smooth as a gravy sandwich. :humper:

Cool. Hope the gravy is not as lumpy as my Gramma's? For some reason I cannot post pictures by just using "attachments." Any free "third party" web suggestions to post pictures from would be welcome. Photobucket died I guess. And Webshots. Or time has passed me by? Was a beautiful day for some motorcycle time. :coolio:
My wife's gravy is very smooth. :D

I host my pictures for free on a sports website.
