hard to believe most of those pretty young girls are now in their 60s!
and that t-shirt ronnie's wearing? that's the one of neil young from the "tonight's the night" album cover and he was supposedly buried with that on.

who doesn't want to go back to a 70's outdoor stadium concert to see skynyrd after that one? it's a spine-tingler! listen to the next one on the up next list to get some more flavor from that oakland gig. a band that once blew the stones off the stage if you're to believe ronnie. i do.

Saw them back in 78’ and again last year in Fargo. Love Southern Rock and Skynyrd was the best at it. Have to put the Outlaws next. They could bring it tooweimy froob wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 5:49 pm who doesn't want to go back to a 70's outdoor stadium concert to see skynyrd after that one? it's a spine-tingler! listen to the next one on the up next list to get some more flavor from that oakland gig. a band that once blew the stones off the stage if you're to believe ronnie. i do.

Re: All things 70's
i wish i had seen them in the 70's. i'm listening to them right now. "call me the breeze" live in 76. i never saw them but i drank many a beer to their music back in the day. that jam in oakland and that crowd just looks SO fun. i wish i had a time machine and could go relive that day out there. i listened to the "sweet home alabama" song from that concert and it sounded like they were the opening act for peter frampton that day. when a frampton concert was all the rage if i'm remembering things correctly. skynyrd blew peter off the stage that day i'm sure too.Jimtown guy wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 6:08 pmSaw them back in 78’ and again last year in Fargo. the '70s really sucked. recessions, Nixon and Ford, the pointless war, disco, polyester, tons of bad top 40 music. fortunately I had weed and booze to get through it.

Re: All things 70's
that summer I remember KQRS playing the entire Exile album (the Stones were coming to the Met Sports Center) and also Thick as a Brick. that station was unbelievably cool, "underground" music, no Top 40; "hippie" DJs, mostly local ad clients like the Wax Museum and waterbed stores.weimy froob wrote: ↑Tue Jun 19, 2018 11:24 am here's a few songs from the replaying of casey kasem's american top 40 radio show this weekend on the 70's on 7 channel. the week of june 17, 1972.

That song is set as the rungtone on my phone. I alternate between that and "She".Hummdrum wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 12:31 am for a brief time KISS was the biggest thing going =

this "song" was on the charts in 1974. i think it's still funny today. a good listen whether you've heard it before-or not.

WOW! Great tunes listed here and harkens me back to my teen years. Only wish Kinkster were here to list some of his favorites....the guy had a great ear for classics!
