Took the fam to see Styx last night in Mankato. Good show, once again. First concert that little miss cmd has attended. Dude behind us got kicked out because we went down to the mixing table and chewed out the guy running the board. Probably for the best, because his wife spent most of the show on the verge of puking.

LOL! That's essentially what he claimed to do. He and his gal were pretty drunk, anyway. He was bothering the guys sitting right behind me, too. When he came back up to the seats (yes, he made a special trip down to the sound board), he told those guys "I owned a recording studio for 20 years. This guy sucks. We'll see if he does it right and listens to me!" Needless to say, one security guard and then some security/sound board guy were just a couple minutes behind him. It was great. I don't think I've ever run in to something like that in all the concerts I've been to.

Neil Young was amazing at the Orpheum.

Side note: You’re a Neil Young fan. You know his politics. You go to the show with your gal and repeatedly yell “Donald Trump!” at him during his songs. Jesus fucking Christ. It’s gotten to the point that you can’t even enjoy an an all-time great musician without being inundated with moronic behavior from these idiots.

Sounds like trying to froob on the main board!

Politics aside, I absolutely agree with you. I don't understand people that behave that way. Sounds like that clown was only there to be an ass, which makes you wonder why he'd even want to spend the money to do so. Sounds like an absolute moran!

The story here is a couple froobing at a Neil Young show. Even if one likes Trump, one can’t enjoy the behavior of his moron followers ruining shit for EVERYONE. Shut up and enjoy the song you paid to hear.

We get it. Some folks like Trump. Certainly no need to scream it at the top of your lungs at an acoustic Neil show.

Dwight Yoakam at Mystic Lake last month.

Gonna see Alice in Chains next month. Gives me enough time to get up to speed with their newer music.

I would think that should be a great show. I like Duvall, because he sounds similar to Layne.

Side note, I just looked at tickets for that. $62.50, on ticketmaster, for GA Floor tickets. Seems high for GA tickets.

There first two albums with the new guy are solid. I mean Layne was the soul of the band but Jerry was the engine. Have an open mind and you might enjoy some of it.

First- Oasis/Toadies/Goo Goo Dolls/Lisa Loeb/Del Amitri - Edgecapades ~'95ish. The Toadies were awesome, Oasis was boring as fuck.

Most recent- Garth Brooks at Target Center his last go 'round here. The things you do for women...

I need to get to another show.

Bush does put on a good show. Saw them at the Myth, and the sound kind of sucked, but once again, the band itself was tremendous.

Everclear had to have been pretty good? I saw them in the spring of 99, right as they were blowing up from the So Much For The Afterglow album. Was a really good concert. Saw them at Xfest the following year, after the next album, and they were horrible.

Everclear was awful live, but there was something about Santa Monica.... when I heard it live it was the first time I’ve ever heard it. Wasn’t on the radio.
Bush was amazing - I was front and center because the radio guy saw my wife had a black eye and hooked us up. She nailed her face on our counter FYI.... I was giving knucks to the guitar player all night, his idea lol

saw third eye blind ( all time fave) Red Hot Chili Peppers and foo fighters last year too... was a good year

Just heard Amp Fiddler is playing next weekend, tickets only $27.50AUD. If you don't know Amp, that price is ridiculous!

Should be $2.75 per ticket. I don't know them and care never to.

Machine Head in Belfast on their Burn my Eyes 25 year anniversary show.

Played straight for over 3 hours was absolutely epic.

Also said and i havent checked that the Belfast date fell exactly 25 years after the first when the supported Slayer. Said he had never forgot the gig as there was a guy in the moshpit wearing a motorbike helmet and no one seemed to care.
Self praise is no praise. But i am pretty great...

Badbeat? Badass!

I was lucky enough to be there as well. I was 10 and by brother was 15. Our parents were out of town with my sister and he was in charge of taking care of me. His friends had tickets but he said he couldn't go unless I came with and they managed to get me one and off we went.

Although it wasn't my very first concert (KISS the year before) it was a much bigger deal with that many people and such a true blue rock and roll show.
I remember it started raining during Steve Miller's set and my brother wouldn't let me partake in that which was being passed around.

First? Probably Tammy Wynette at the high school in Blue Earth in 1976 or 77. Show was a few hours late because she fell leaving a local watering hole and broke her arm. She took the stage with no cast and sang like a BOSS.

Last was Bob Dylan in Mankato last month.

I saw them maybe five or six years ago (free tickets, of course) and they didn't even fucking play Mr. Roboto. I think there's maybe one original guy in the band or something.

The "new" lead singer is some weirdo who spent the entire set spinning and swiveling and humping his way around a rotating keyboard. It was fucking bizarre.
Like that, y'all, pop some more shit.
