It's been 32 years since one of MN's four major sports teams has been to the Championship/Superbowl.
Every single year is failure until we win one. 4 teams, 32 years. That's roughly 128 consecutive failed seasons.

We have talked before how much some of us love Funkadelic. What an absolutely crazy song to open an album with. Eddie Hazel was genius.

Big thumbs up!

Song or the album, it's all good. One of their very best.

Fuck yeah it is.

That album is a touch stone and frequently.

It's unbelievable that they recorded that in 1972.

Waaaaaay ahead of it's time. So much so, that there is material on there that we STILL have not caught up to.

To me it's a clear nod to Hendrix.

Stick with that whole record.

It's a landmark funk achievement.

They still are! Best 6 string duo to come out of the 80's.

Anderson East's "Encore." It's still too safe from my liking. I liked "Delilah" alright and I think "Encore" is a step in the right direction, but it still feels he's holding back from making an honest record. His voice is Joe Cocker-esque and I think he's got talent. His cover of Ted Hawkins' Sorry You're Sick" is a cool take on that song.

"So I called up my local DJ, and he didn't have a lot to say, but the radio has learned all of my favorite tunes." Is just some of the best lyrics. John Prine is a motherfucker.

prine's "aint hurtin nobody" is just brimming with great lines. right off the bat "i'm walking down the street. like Lucky Larue. got my hands in my pockets, baby - thinking 'bout you". that whole record - "lake marie". he's got this great rhythmic sense to his lyrics - especially in a folk/blues/rock forum, that offers these great gems while still absolutely propelling the rhythm of the songs. one of my faves.

many years later i found myself talking to this girl
who was standing there with her back turned to Lake Marie
the wind was blowing
especially thru her hair
there were four italian sausages cooking on the outdoor grill
and they was ssssizzzlin'

this came across my feed the other day. if you're a fan of king crimson, you'll probably love it - if only for the painstaking detail. petra haden is daughter of jazz bassist/composer charlie haden.

Deftones: Digital Bath.

Defintely not for everybody. A lot of people just down right hate the way Chino sings, but more than any of his contemporaries he uses his voice like an instrumemt so I get stuck in Deftones mode and stay there for weeks.
