Calling her a female Prince might be a bit unfair, but I think it's a nice complimentary way to describe this. Can't believe I didn't know the name before today.

This video is old, but I learned that today one of my managers is one of the sisters to this group. Music is not my style but a pretty cool story.

Spent a few days listening to every song from Rubber Soul through Let It Be. So many 'hidden gems' on those records, as well as B-sides from that era that most bands would kill to have on their greatest hits.

I hate remastered records. Hate em. Oh, we mixed this to more modern sensibilities. No, fuck that. Give me how it was originally mixed and mastered. Some of the early stereo records have drums panned hard left or right. It's interesting. It's not "wrong." That's just what they did with the new technology at the time.

Mixing is so homogenized these days. Everything fits in its place but it's kinda boring. Give me the weird mixes where the engineer was like...okay but how about this shit! Slamming limiters and plate reverb in a bathroom while using a Melotron. Just nightmare crazy shit. That's the good stuff. Anyway, leave it.

I could not agree more. That is why we like original old vinyl.

Cream of the Crop..... if modern musicians played 1/4th as well as these guys played when they were senior citizens then maybe today's music wouldn't suck.
