I wish it was a Gibson, but it costed $350, and let's face, I'm just not that good of a guitarist yet. I'll upgrade down the line when I'm better.
I am not a guitar guy. I listen almost exclusively to classical music and I play piano.

That being said, that is one sweet looking guitar.

Dammit, Abe! We have a "New Gear" thread going and it sure coulda used this content!

Anyways, yes love the silverburst. I always thought those Epi customs were pretty cool and a better choice over, say, a Gibson studio.

Put some bell knobs on that baby.

Do you like it?
I do. It’s heavier than my SG by a fair amount. But it’s got that LP thickness, both in body and sound.

Honestly, I don’t get a chance to play it as much as I’d like, young kids in the house and all, but I really like the look and my SG is almost 20 years old so I rewarded myself with it.

I do think my SG is easier to play, though.

How’d you get it for $350? Used?

I got mine new for around $600 with a hard case.

Enjoy!

Bought the older boy a Cort last month with a 60w Peavey amp. Neither very high end but a good starter set. He'd been playing an acoustic for about 2 years. When he demo'd the amp using one of their guitars (we bought the guitar elsewhere) the dudes working in the store feeling it with one guy jumping on drums and another picked up a bass to jam with him. Fucker better be the next Dave Grohl.

I got a bass and amp for Christmas when I was in 8th grade as 3 of my buddies kept bugging me so they could have a bass player in their band. I practiced and practiced till by fingers damn near bleed. After a couple years I hung it up. Realized I don’t have a musical ear. But man did I dream about being a rock star and getting all the babes. Didn’t quite work out that way

Been there, done that.

They weren't too expensive, and back when I worked at a guitar shop we sold these. I just kinda liked them back then, but I was a broke college student and could afford them. So.. yeah... I'm fucked when my wife gets back into town...

You’d best buy her something as well.

I'm a big Ibanez fan these days. Even their budget guitars are pretty damn nice. I've had an Ibanez acoustic bass guitar for years, and about two years ago (just before my band of 20 years fell apart) I picked up a really cool seafoam green bass with tortoise shell pick guard and active electronics for cheap. I actually play that one more than either of my nice Fender J-basses. It just sounds and feels perfect to me. Now that I've been invited to join a new project, I've been playing it more learning the new material.

I'd post a pic, but I don't have those priviledges. (hint hint).

This is the Ibanez bass I was talking about. Now they have one with a maple fretboard that looks even cooler.

Weeeeeellllll.....

They did, but this week has been a bit if a regression for me. Stress is a bitch and it makes people do stupid things. Self induced stress is the worst and it makes Abe Froman do very stupid things... I'm 2 sheets to the wind as I post this... It's not even 6pm... I had a really good fucking week last week, man... Last weekend was really good and Monday was even better.... Tuesday started out okay and just slowly got worse. Today sucks. I'm getting drunk 3 days in a row for the first time since October. Oh well, bottoms up.

Must be. The only time I drink like this is when Mercury is in retrograde. Mercury was in retrograde for the past 38 years, right?
Give or take.
