“What is this that stands before me?” indeed!
Many have debated the actual birth of metal, but most agree that it is Black Sabbath’s first record. Perhaps it was birthed before. Some say King Crimson, Vanilla Fudge, Coven, or others may have a claim to be heavy metal’s true first act. But there can be no debate that when Black Sabbath’s first record arrived, metal was here.
Here’s to another 50!
