NEW YORK — The Rolling Stones are postponing their latest North American tour so Mick Jagger can receive medical treatment.

The band announced Saturday that Jagger was told by doctors "he cannot go on tour at this time." The band added that Jagger "is expected to make a complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible."

No more details about 75-year-old Jagger's condition were provided.

The Stones' No Filter Tour was expected to start April 20 in Miami. Other stops included Jacksonville, Florida; Houston; the New Orleans Jazz Festival; Pasadena and Santa Clara in California; Seattle; Denver; Washington, D.C.; Philadelphia; Foxborough, Massachusetts; East Rutherford, New Jersey; Chicago; and Ontario, Canada.

Jagger says in the statement he hates letting the fans down but he's "looking forward to getting back on stage as soon as I can."

Tour promoters AEG Presents and Concerts West advise ticketholders to hold on to their existing tickets because will be valid for the rescheduled dates.

they were going to charge $185 for the day they were going to play at the second weekend of jazz Fest in NOLA. (instead of the normal $75.) So instead of going the second weekend like I normally do, I booked a trip for the first weekend. too much to pay to hear the stones. I saw them in '75 in St. Paul; at the end of the last song, a cherry bomb thrown from the balcony went off right next to me ...the next time the Stones came to St. Paul in 1978, Bill Wyman fell off the stage as he was leaving, broke his arm.

Mick Jagger is 'taking a month off after a routine scan discovered something untoward' causing The Rolling Stones to delay their upcoming U.S. tour

Keith Richards has responded on Twitter to news of Mick Jagger’s illness and the postponement of the Rolling Stones’ upcoming tour.

Richards writes: “A big disappointment for everyone but things need to be taken care of and we will see you soon. Mick, we are always there for you!”

Ironically, it’s Richards whose health has always been called into question, not Jagger. Richards, whose love of drink and drug is legendary, has somehow–and wonderfully– managed to keep going despite all odds. It was Jagger who was into health and well being.

The Stones have also escaped and major health issues up til now, which is certainly against the norm for men of their ages.

i have/had tix to see them at Soldier Field. Seen them many times, starting in 1981 at the Civic Center (with Lamont Cranston and Stray Cats opening). Quite a show. Get well Mick.

Only $1,800 a ticket on Stub Hub. I pretended like I was interested in going this morning. It was FUN!

Jagger appears healthy as Rolling Stones rock Soldier Field

CHICAGO (AP) — Mick Jagger appeared healthy and energetic Friday night as the Rolling Stones launched their North American tour at Chicago's Soldier Field.

The 75-year-old frontman ran and skipped along a narrow stage that jutted out into the crowd. It was his first major concert performance since doctors told him just three months ago he required medical treatment and needed to postpone the tour.

The band, formed more than 50 years ago, opened with "Street Fighting Man" followed by "Let's Spend the Night Together."

"It's great to be back at Soldier Field — for the eighth time," Jagger said before launching into the third song, "Tumbling Dice."

All the Stones are now in their 70s. Guitarist Keith Richards is also 75. Ronnie Wood, who plays guitar as well, is 72. Drummer Charlie Watts is the senior member at 78.
