Road Songs
I have a selection of music that I consider to be "road songs". Cmd's dictionary defines this type of song as something that you either envision, or actually listen to, when embarking on a road trip of a decent amount of miles. Usually, it's a song that you can either just set the cruise, sit back, and groove while passing cars on the highway, or something that finds you pressing down on the gas pedal more and more, without even realizing that you're now officially hauling ass. Do you have these songs, froobs? A few of mine include, but not limited to:
Walk of Life - Dire Straights
Over The Hills - Led Zeppelin
I Stay Away - AIC
Ventura Highway - America (I'm quickly becoming a really big fan of these guys. Before my time, but such a smooth chill vibe to them)

Isn’t the obvious answer “Highway to Hell” by AC/DC?

Re: Road Songs
It absolutely is another one of mine.
But, I'm not saying it has to be about a road, or whatever. Just a song that you can just sit back and cruise with it on. It could be MMMBop, for all anyone cares!

Re: Road Songs
Well, I'm running down the road
tryin' to loosen my load
I've got seven women on
my mind,
Four that wanna own me,
Two that wanna stone me,
One says she's a friend of mine
Take It easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your them old wheels
drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand
and take it easy
Well, I'm a standing on a corner
in Southern Arizona
and such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed
Ford slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is
gonna save me
We may lose and we may win though
we will never be here again
so open up, I'm climbin' in,
so take it easy
Well I'm running down the road trying to loosen
my load, got a world of trouble on my mind
lookin' for a lover who won't blow my
cover, she's so hard to find
Take it easy, take it easy
don't let the sound of them old
wheels drive you crazy
come on baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is
gonna save me, oh oh oh
Oh you knoe we got it easy
We oughta take it easy
tryin' to loosen my load
I've got seven women on
my mind,
Four that wanna own me,
Two that wanna stone me,
One says she's a friend of mine

That's a big ten-four
From your back door
Just put that hammer down
This young man feels
Those eighteen wheels
That keep turning 'round to take me down to Shaky Town
Lampin'

Blackfoot does the job with some Train Train to get the trip started and then bring it home with Highway Song as you drive into the sunset.

Re: Road Songs
I can continuously listen to the Eagles Greatest Hits Vol 1 and Vol 2 over and over and over. I skip over Heartache Tonight and Witchy Woman
I can replay Already Gone 4-5 times in a row, its not the song I thought it was in HS, watching the Pom Squad out on the gym floor rocking out
I've quizzed the young Sandy's about the lyric
"So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains
nnd we never even know we have the key"
