My go to is a 5:1 mixture of apple juice and Worcestershire sauce. Sweet with a nice bitter bite to it. I use it on most things like shoulders, brisket, chicken, etc.

rarely spritz, just use a water tray that is full of spice to create a consent steam bath in the smoker.
When I wrap the ribs up, i put a bit of that spiced up water in the foil.
Saw something I have never tried before in the wrap. butter. might try that this year.
