vikings Packers Week

Post by Chuck North »

It's put up or shut up time.

It's not a Sunday Night or Monday Night prime time game, but important for Cousins nonetheless. The vikings signed him to an $84 million contract dispite having a 5 - 24 record against winning teams. The purple fans said, "Yeah, but he's never been on a team this good!" Well he went 0-5 or something last year? He needs this W in the worst way.

Can he come through or fold like a limp reed in the wind? :coolio:

Can Aaron Rodgers move his team to 2-0 and 2-0 in the division? Or will it be the defense that gets the headlines?

What ya got?

I'm terrified of the new vaunted Packers defense. They are legit. High flying, hard hitting, in your face smash mouth defense. The 85 Bears should tune in and watch this unfold. What they did to the revered Bears offense should put everyone on notice. I expect them to hold the Vikings to three points. Only because the Vikings get help from an official with an egregious pass interference call.

Sigh...

A 1-0 team isn't really considered a "Winning team" that's why all this non sense is stupid. How many teams may have finished with a winning record if they didn't lose to Cousins during the season?

Also, Cousins is the when who led us back in GB last year.

With all that said, I think GB is going to try and establish the run game early and often. If the Vikings bottle it up, I think it gets ugly.

One factor imo is GB hasn't beat Minnesota in a LONG time. They are due and that worries me. My heart says GB will win because they are due. My head says the Vikings will win because they are superior talent wise.

Going with my head and laid money on it too.

Rodgers has to wake up one of these seasons. This will be the one.
It's been 32 years since one of MN's four major sports teams has been to the Championship/Superbowl.
Every single year is failure until we win one. 4 teams, 32 years. That's roughly 128 consecutive failed seasons.

“The banner used during Sunday’s pregame ceremony supplemented the three U.S. flags on the roof of the stadium and the flag carried by the color guard on the field,” Packers spokesman Aaron Popkey said. “We’ve used such displays from time to time in the past when other pregame elements take up a significant portion of the field.”

The University Of Wisconsin marching band featured approximately 200 members and apparently took up too much of the filed to unveil the entire American flag. So this will have to do for Green Bay fans, for now.

Until they prove otherwise, the team behind Rodgers is garbage.

Decent chance of rain Sunday.

Will Rodg petition the league to have the game postponed due to dangerous dampness?

He might demand the field be shortened to 80 yards then not play.

Did you guys see Rodgers told the fans not to do the wave while he's on offense? It's too distracting apparently.

Cynthia give the Packers a 56% chance of winning.

Let's just go with that.

Actually, out of 32 teams, she has the viklings held to the 5th lowest point total. Only the Cards, Jags, Browns and Dolphins were lower.

Here's what she had to say about the Packers defense.

ONE NUMBER TO TRUST

29%: Packers' rate of defensive disruption (ranking eighth for Week 1). Next Gen Stats show that in last Thursday's win over the Bears, the Packers pressured Chicago quarterback Mitchell Trubisky on 38% of dropbacks, up from 13.2% in the teams' two games last season. Further, my computer vision tracks 13 times where the Packers got into a 5-foot halo in Trubisky's field of vision (what I count as defensive disruption, compared to NGS' definition of disruption as occurring when a player is within 2 yards of the QB when he throws the ball) for a rate of 29%. For context, think of about a 16% disruption rate as being very good.

Not very good when you consider the Bears dropped back to pass about 721 times and Mitch Nabisco eye-fucked his primary target before they even broke the huddle.
