Brees @ Kirk's house - Week 9 Sunday Night game edition

Post by Chuck North »

The Saints roll in with only one player on the injury report, while the purple, much to the relief of TBGH and Jaymo (built in excuse if needed), have a myriad of players injured or out.

Yes, everybody is sick of seeing or listening to the mpls miracle play. Hopefully we can all move on.

Kirk is the biggest change to this series. Can he match blow for blow? Can he produce under the large spotlight of Sunday Night football against a top opponent? History says no, but the purple need him now more than ever to lead a comeback win if necessary.

Some stats. Drew Brees faces the least amount of pressure (16.2%) in the NFL because of their great oline and his ability to get rid of the ball. The vikes defensive pressure rate is 33.2%, good enough for 2nd in the NFL. This will be the difference in my opinion. Will Griff and company get to Brees or at least make him throw the ball before he wants to?

I'm leaning Saints in this battle, but I can see the vikes getting super amped with emotion to get the job done.

I'll be concentrated on how many times Kirk gets the ball tipped at the line of scrimmage. That's what's important and where the focus should be. Don't really care much about the W or the fact the Vikings are winning with batted down balls.

I'd be more worried about how your OL will deal with Donald and how your young DB's deal with the Ram's receivers minus Cupp.

Kurt with a batted pass and fumble all on the very first drive. lol

The penalty will negate the batted pass.

Vikes finally have a very good QB. They should be happy they clearly made the right call on Kirk over Case.

Zimmer might have to sell his soul though to find a kicker.

4th and 1 at around mid field and Kirk throws to bustwell?

Kirk battling turnovers in a big game under the lights. History says he can't win the big games. He can put up some good fantasy numbers tho.

Yeah but we got a rushing touchdown and they will move up in the defensive rankings. Concentrate on what's important.

Can't help but wonder what happens if Thielen doesn't fumble.

It would have went a long ways towards a potential victory. It would have kept the pressure off Kirk to be the one to have to lead a comeback.

The Pack fumbled their chance at victory, albeit at the very end.

Lol. I was referring to the purple giving up four scoring drives for 16 points to salt the game away before Kirk responded for a garbage time answer.

Maybe if you didn't throw the ball to bustwell on 4th down at midfield, the Saints would have a longer field?
