Quotes from the greatest minds

Post by mglviks »

Im a big fan of great quotes.

We can learn from them, live by them, they can inspire, heal and induce emotions and or thought.

Perhaps the quickest way to gain wisdom. Why not use advise given through time?

I have like a thousand written down in my book for my kids in case I dont make it home someday. Along with other lessons and notes for them. I started writing it after my second one was born.

I share these quotes with them often. Even do some quotes of the day. And we discuss what they mean.

Share some of your favorites here!

That first one is basically what Gotama Buddha said in the Four Noble Truths: "All life is unsatisfactory; life is unsatisfactory because we crave/desire/want; stop craving/desiring/wanting to escape the unsatisfactoriness; follow the eightfold path the see how!" (paraphrasing)

That another one that I have heard by someone else, I think a Hindu goji.

Basically went along the lines of (with its foundation firmly in the Hindu idea of dharma) that someone will never be happy if they wish to better themselves than the situation/life they have found themselves in.
