***The Official Fishing Thread Thread***

Post by Froob »

This is it.

Fished up and down the Minnesota and Mississippi today, from 35W to past the confluence. Not much luck. Jigs and plastic, jigs and minnows, rattle crankbaits, minnows on slip bobbers.

We saw a pretty decent sized pirate ship? They were jovial. A lot of people partying in spots here and there. A lot of hip-hop. Quite the subculture, rivers.

Next time we try for catfish.

Beautiful night though.

Any luck?

We used to go to the St.Croix around Taylors falls. We would find a nice sand bar with a drop off, start a nice fire and throw a big crawler out on the bottom. Caught walleyes, sturgeon, catfish, carp, smallmouths and a few unknown (to us)
species.
Retreat but never cower

Doing this next weekend. I’ve got a Lund and my buddy had a boat, but now he’s got a boat club membership with locations all over the metro. It’s pretty slick.

Skipped the above trip but heading up to Leech. Weather looks amazing. Gonna stay at the casino so as to concentrate on fishing instead of camping. May the fishing gods be with us.

Didn't fish close enough to shore line using crawlers and leeches. Less than 6ft shouldv'e had limit.

Ice fished a few local lakes this week and (outside of LOW) it’s the best fishing I’ve ever had. Caught some decent gills and jumbos, pounded the smaller crappie, and even caught a few Walters. It’s been fun
