ND scores to make it 2-1. Would LOVE to see perhaps a 2 or 3 overtime thrilla!

This has been a end to end physical game. I hope I’m wrong but I think ND pulls it out.

UMD is 54-0-3 when leading going into the 3rd, that’s incredible.

Let's be real. The main story of the night is former Gopher Adam Wilcox making his debut for the Sabres.

Re: College hockey
As a proud UMD alumni and fan of Bulldog hockey I didn't think this team had the horses actually get it done when the tournament began. I think they were 15/1. In my time as a Bulldog fan (2003) I have seen the program field three or four teams that I thought were better teams than either of the two that actually won National Championships. Just goes to show you....
Proof positive (as if there was any doubt) that JT is a truly brilliant hockey mind as he called it before the tournament even began!
Lastly, whether is was UMD or a different program, it was nice the see the NCAA get burned after they tried to rig the tournament so that a Big 10 school would be the eventual champion.

Did you ever make the road trip up to the old DECC when they'd put UMTC on the scoreboard for the Gophers rather than U of M?Miley Cyrus wrote: ↑Sat Apr 07, 2018 9:36 pmThey graduated before I did, so probably between 33-35

Never made it up for a game there, although I'm aware of the bit. Hell, spent more time at Burrito Loco and the Library than at the Mooch.Ron Burgundy 4 President wrote: ↑Sat Apr 07, 2018 9:45 pmDid you ever make the road trip up to the old DECC when they'd put UMTC on the scoreboard for the Gophers rather than U of M?

I think the real lesson is that unless you have a truly elite team, you need to catch a break or two along the way as well. Hell, they needed a series of huge breaks just to edge the Gophers for that final tournament spot. To be fair though, the Bulldogs should have edged them by a more substantial margin to begin with based on the fact that they won four more regular season games, actually made it their own conference's tournament, and last, but not least, beat them in their only head to head meeting.

I hear ya. Tell you what your Dogs will be one of the favorites again next year unless a bunch decide to leave early. But I don’t see that. Sandy has done a wonderful job there. I think Minnesota stole the wrong coachRon Burgundy 4 President wrote: ↑Sat Apr 07, 2018 10:05 pmI think the real lesson is that unless you have a truly elite team, you need to catch a break or two along the way as well. Man did this town turn on little Dave Spehar when he chose the U over the Dogs. Savage.
I miss the WCHA.

Re: College hockey
All righty.....the 2017-18 season is now completed and coaches are already gearing up for the 2018-19 campaign. The arrival of Motz will at least temporarily smack me out of my Gopher hockey coma and will be interesting/exciting to see what he has up his sleeve player wise for next year. How many non-Minnesotan's will he recruit? Will any former Huskie's be coming to Dinkytown? Will Motz be able to get more out of returning Rodent players? Gonna be interesting!

my tax guy is a umd graduate. he said he wore out some of his carpet pacing back and forth this tournament season. i didn't do any pacing-but i'm very glad that they won. i consider this an ncaa championship for the entire state of minnesota in general to be able to be proud of and that great region of the state in particular.
