It's the reason they're under consideration period.
Someone with knowledge of his visit on gopherhole said it went very well, and that he wanted to commit, but those around him wanted him to take all of his visits. Would be a good get for Pitino.
Yep, per Ryan James, the family wanted him to do more visits. Sucks he visited when it was so damn cold.

Guys to keep an eye on:

David Skogman 6'10 PF from Wisconsin -- might visit soon
Tujautae Williams - Wing from Illinois, same deal, looking at visiting
Sean McNeil -- juco shooting guard everyone is after. Heart condition apparently kept him out for a bit so he went the juco route and is an incredible shooter. Three years remaining.
Grant Sherfield of course on commit watch too after visiting.

Jamison Battle of De La Salle is going to hit the market soon per Ryan James and Doogie. 6'7 combo forward who can shoot the lights out. Was a George Washington commit but the coach got fired. RJ thinks the market will include a lot more high majors now this spring for Battle whereas it was mostly mid majors in the summer and fall.

Sid rumor is that Hurt will leave and go wherever his brother goes. No real loss there, but Pitino better get the roster filled up. I can't believe a blue blood would take older Hurt. And why bother? By the time he'd be eligible again his brother is likely gone to the NBA.

Any decent JUCO options out there?

Michael will likely graduate this summer.

Good for him and time to get a real job....basketball isn't in his future!

You might be right! Not sure why I have built up so much disgust with him, just really disappointed I guess that he hasn't contributed a lick for this program.....could really have used some help from him this year.

You and I both. I had high hopes for him... he was a solid all around player in HS. He's actually a legit good shooter but never looks like he wants to shoot. Same with Stull. Shame.

Burns is saying they have a transfer big all but signed up. Better be someone with immediate eligibility.

Sims would have to sit, it does nothing for the massive hole at 4/5 next year.

Just saw the Star Tribune All-Metro 1st and 2nd team selections.....not one committed to the Rodents. That tells you all you need to know about Pitino. Brutal.

The 2019 class is nothing compared to the 2020.

Suggs/Garcia and Hurt/Nnaji cancel each other out.

But then Dainja/Walton/Carlson/Hadley >>>>>>>>

I'm fairly certain it's Jericho Sims. He also has a family member with a health issue (said that pages back) supposedly so he should be eligible immediately.

That would be nice if that worked out. I don't think Pitino should have any faith in the NCAA getting a guy eligible right away though.

Whoever is coaching here has GOT to be able to land 1 or 2 of the top 5 minimum EVERY YEAR. Too much talent to let getaway and now that we have that billion dollar athlete's village why would the youngsters want to go elsewhere? Isn't that what we were promised? Good golly.

Luka Barisic has a final three of Drake, San Diego and Texas-San Antonio. Guess he's the mid major route not big ten caliber.

Once upon a time Joey King went there, don't think he even started and ended up decent here. I still wouldn't mind him but it appears the Gophers are targeting others.

3 open scholarships for Sherfield, Sims and ????

Washington and Hurt potentially transfer would open up two more.

Assuming those two leave, are there any decent JUCO options that could step in right away and help out? Although if Sims gets deemed eligible, that would be similar being he'd be an experienced player coming on board.

Battle would be great. I hope Pitino goes hard after him. Shooter with size.... and he's not shy about shooting either.

Is there a reason some feel certain it’s Jericho Sims that’s the transfer big? Or are folks just putting pieces together?

I don't know who else it would be. If you're into podcasts, check out "talk gopher buckets" -- Ryan James and Luke Buer. Ryan basically says there's a big man transfer coming in if all goes right and that's all he wanted to say about it. In previous years, he'd mention guys names who were RUMORED to be coming home.

If Sims does transfer, he brings a resume similar to Davonte Fitzgerald. And by mid-December this year he had minutes and numbers that we've come to expect from Michael Hurt.
