Oh boy, new uniforms unveiled today. Stupid fucking oars and a compass point on the helmet. How the administration signs off on this self-serving bullshit floors me.

They look better than I expected but until they start winning I don't give a shit what they do, good or bad.

Jason Bargy committed last night to the Gophers, 4 star Defensive end with offers from ND, Wisc, Iowa, Purdue, MSU and others. One of the highest rated recruits ever for the UofM.

Just out of curiosity, which Gophers from the past would be in the conversation if we're talking the highest rated recruits we've ever had?
A buddy sent me a screenshot link this morning. Off the top of my head:
Carter Coughlin
Hayo Carpenter
Clint Brewster
Those three were on there for sure. I believe this DE was #5. I'm blanking on the 5th guy.
Highest ever has to be Jeff Jones from Washburn right? Guy was a top 50 recruit in the nation. How'd that end up!?
Off the top of my head, recent 4 stars include Coughlin, Bateman (WR coming in next year), the two big offensive linemen Dunlap and Faalele. Here are some others I found when looking back: Marqueis Gray, Sam Maresh, Anthony Jacobs, Maroney, Paris Hamilton
one class Brewster had, 2008 maybe, had like 7-8 4 stars.

Not claiming this Bargy kid will flip, but I do suspect that there will be a lot of flipping from Gopher commits during the PJ era. I imagine he is a real hard guy to say no to in person. I also picture him as a guy who could sell the program and get a kid real pumped up, then see the excitement decline slowly.
Not a knock on him, I just feel recruitment is going to be a bit of a roller coaster, which isnt a bad thing.

PJ also landed 2 massive(6'4" 315 and 6'4" 275) JUCO DT's and a JUCO middle linebacker. It's insanely early and flips will happen but were nationally ranked 16th. IF we could get Bryce Benhart that 4 star OT from Lakeville this class could be a homerun.

Of the two JUCO DT's, one of them was a big time recruit coming out of highschool. Chris Daniels had offers from Texas, Bama, Michigan, Oklahoma, Miami, Ohio State, USC...and the list goes on and on with other big time schools. Not sure what happened that brought him to JUCO, but its also odd that 247 ranks him behind the other JUCO DT, who was basically unheard of coming out of highschool.

Who was that moron at old site who tried telling the kids that Jones was ready to play on Sundays as an 18 year old. That was a fun classic and priceless thread.
