Wisconsin started the season as a trendy pick for the CFP. They ended it getting humiliated at home by a team they absolutely owned for a decade and a half to finish 7-5. Fucking ouch.

Congrats to new DC Joe Rossi. You saved PJ's ass.

Hell of a question. His track record isn't real impressive, but you can't dismiss what he accomplished after taking over. Kids seem to like him. The interim label was given to him, but you really can't argue that he flat-out earned the full time gig.

Yeah, that's valid. Here is the problem I have. Was this defense massively underperforming? Did they hate the Smith? Meaning, is it more about Smith doing terrible than Rossi doing well? If so, than are we truly hiring best man for the job?

At the end of the day, hard to argue he earned it. And note, I have no reason to think he won't do well. I just hope it's not a knee jerk reaction and he really is this good!

Good win for the kids and the program. I know Wisconsin is not the Wisconsin of the past, but it's a start.
For me, PJ is really high energy, not my liking, but the kids like it and that's what counts. They should win at least 8 game next year and we'll see what 2020 is like...10 plus wins and big ten west shot?

feels pretty damn good to me.
Me too! This was the year to do it, but I don't care. It was just nice to see all those Badgers fans sulk. I went to the game at Camp Randall 2 years ago, and the Badger fans were classless pricks. It was the game where Liedner pissed away the lead with like 3 picks in the second half. I was seated on the Goofs sideline, and some guy screamed "12 years you fuckin' losers" through the whole game.

No, not at all. But a 1-win conference season would have looked real ugly and turned the heat way up for next year. Plus, it would have made it harder to keep this years' recruits and made next years' class very challenging.

A great win that arguably turns this season from a disappointment to a success. The new DC in a short period of time proved to be leaps and bounds better than Smith. My initial thought on the game was that Taylor would rush for 200+ yards off the edge. Nice schematic clean up by Smith to neutralize (to some extent) Taylor and the Badgers running game. Doing that while losing Cashman is even more impressive.

Seth Green has been an unsung hero on this team all year. His consistent successful wildcat plays have played a huge role in this season. I’ve been waiting for the “wait for it moment” where he fumbles, throws a pick, or makes a silly read, but it just never came all season. It’s awesome to know he’s only a sophomore. A huge weapon going forward.

The offense as a whole seems to be in really good shape going forward. Just two seniors in the lineup. Next year should be another step forward. Hopefully the schedule isn’t too daunting.

Nice way to finish. Now off to the bowl game!

I like the call out to Seth Green. He has been a really impactful (in small doses) piece to the puzzle. I like how they use him. Only thing I would like to see is him under center some. We MUST use him on a sneak on plays needing one foot or less. Its such a no brainer. Wouldnt mind him in some traditional option plays as well. Lastly, you could do a modified sneak from it also - gets snap, lets gap develop and dives for the yard they need.
