Other high major teams in the big 12 have reached out but it looks like he's going to stay somewhat local but not with MN. Interesting development.... classic Richard Pitino recruiting at this point too. Looking more and more like local kids feel zero desire to stay home with Pitino in place. He hasn't landed a local recruit since Ben Johnson left.
I really hate Iowa and Fran McCaffery. He's just one of those coaches that you see his face and want to punch it. Who's that guy for you?

Fran, Bo, Izzo when that get that angry face. Pitino's angry face is pathetic.... looks like a child.

Unranked. . . . with a couple mid-major offers. The 2020 class looks grim.

Enjoy seeing what's going on for Gopher Hoops, but this thread is kinda like reading Sid Hartman columns....lots of rumors but never really any stories.

Offer season.... usually what AAU is all about. Now they're trying to get kids (out of state) to schedule for official visits and that of course isn't going too well. Pitino dropped the ball on Crowl earlier in the summer though Crowl is a hypocrite in the same sense if he's saying it's OK for Wisconsin to do the same.

So Crowl was legit ready to commit during his visit but since he was offered a few weeks later he doesn’t want to go to the U now? That means he wasn’t ready to commit then either. Sucks for us if he doesn’t choose the Gophers.

He was ready to commit. He said it was always his dream to go to Minnesota. What happened after he visited is anyone's guess.

Crowl did an interview recently and said MN, Iowa, Colorado and Wisconsin will all get official visits. Maybe it's not over yet?

Xavier offered Mason Madsen. Imagine if they get a class with the Madsen brothers and Ben Carlson now... thanks Ben Johnson!

Saw this on Gopherhole. Not sure how credible this poster is, but still fun to think about.
Take it for whatever it's worth, but I played golf today with a guy very tapped into athletics at Prior Lake -- Pitino has a very good chance to keep Dawson Garcia home. The rumors that had circulated he might go to prep school his senior year are false, he's staying at Prior Lake. His parents want him to stay home, though it's up to him, and they like Pitino.

He's had a few recent big-time offers has had conversations with Coach K, but no Duke offer as of yet. Based on what I was told today, I wouldn't be surprised if Garcia picks the Gophers.

I've read Ryan James say multiple times the Garcia family and Pitino are in a good spot.

Still hope for a Garcia/Walton + someone else class.

Does Suggs still have some interest in Minnesota even though he's apparently a Gonzaga lean?

I'd be thrilled with Garcia/Walton plus Jamal Mashburn Jr.

Have you heard anything on Walton? Are we in a good spot with him even though he's blowing up? 247 has him listed as "warm" to Arizona.

Nothing, just that he's interested in Minnesota and would keep them as an option til the end.

Gophers have begun contacting Jacob Jennissen of Sauk Centre. 6'11 2020 kid. Good move IMO.

No clue, probably just planting seeds right now if they miss on others.

Ryan James keeps tweeting about big games from Walton. Man a Walton/Garcia duo would be dynamite. Mix in another guy and suddenly there’s something going in MN again.

Walton seems focused on Arizona, Iowa, Iowa St, Creighton and Minnesota according to RJ.

Arizona is scary with the Nnaji connection.

LOCK HIM UP PITINO!

Per RJ: Talented 2020 6'2 guard Ty Berry of Newton (KS) has scheduled an official visit to Minnesota on August 29th. @Ty_Berry23 was at Minnesota last summer, has a long relationship with Gopher assistant Kyle Lindsted.

Rochester Mayo/@WisconsinPGC 2020 wing Gabe Madsen has set four official visits:

Xavier - August 23-25
Cincinnati - August 29-31
Minnesota - September 13-15
Northwestern - September 20-22

Looking at adding one more.

I would assume his brother will be with him for the Xavier visit. I bet they commit there on the visit.
